We're thinking about a cruise from LA to Sydney, Australia, in 2014, and would like to take a land tour (or maybe another cruise) at the end of our first cruise (ending in late September).

Any option's or opinion's are very welcome! We'd be especially interested in a land tour.

Thanks,

Would you consider driving, as there is so much to see, off the beaten track, en route from Sydney to Brisbane?

The drive from Brisbane to Sydney is a long way. The highway is inland , so to see most of the sights , as said above, you have to go off the beaten track and head over to the coast. Its a popular drive and most folks take at least a week. I know several friends who have done it and they all say that a week was not long enough as there are several places where you will want to stay a day or two.

Are you saying that a week isn't long enough for the drive from Brisbane to Sydney? We have done that trip several times and usually spend one night on the way. Even with a lot of sightseeing, I think a few days would be plenty.

I am sure you could drive it overnight if it was a case of getting from A to B.

I was talking about a holiday and seeing and experiencing all there is to see on that beautiful stretch of coast.
