Gratuities?

Can someone advise. We normally pay grats up front but have OBC through an open passage so thinking of paying them through this method.

Is this acceptable?

Someone mentioned an envelope so how does it work do you put the full daily amount in or can you decide dependent on the service received?

thanks

lots of people use OBC to pay them. be advised though that if you are choosing the anytime dining option you are required to pay the grats up front.

the charge will be assessed daily and you give any extra you may wish at the end. I know Royal has completely gotten rid of the envelopes altogether so it is possible Celebrity has also. the crew is given a list of who has pre paid, who has had them removed and who had it added daily.

Celebrity no longer uses envelopes. The gratuities will be charged to your account daily (unless you have select dining, then gratuities must be prepaid). The OBC is a credit on your account, so can be used to cover the cost of the gratuities.

You may obtain envelopes and stationery from guest relations if you wish to give extra tips and write a note of thanks to various staff members.

I also asked my Butler last trip, and he still had some of the old school envelopes in his closet specific to butler, steward etc.

But Guest relations has stacks of plain ones on the counters the last day of the cruise as well.
