Westerdam: Alaska Public Viewing Areas

The bow will generally be open in Tracy Arm Fjord and Glacier Bay (weather permitting).

We we on Oosterdam and there weren't really any "secret" areas. Evidently most of the Vistas are leaving the forward viewing decks on 5, 6, and 7 closed throughout the cruise.

You could always make friends with someone in an aft wrap around cabin- great views from back there and some are covered.

If you are near the Promenade Deck you'll be in great shape…I always loved being there…you can walk as you're viewing or, you can "cross through" to the other side easily! We usually book an ocean view for AK for this reason…Main Deck, midships. Easy to get anywhere. The Crow's Nest, etc. are always way too crowded…as are the front viewing areas…and too cold with the wind.

I think we got a little spoiled with the "secret decks" on Island Princess.

I do like the idea of being on the main deck near the promenade....

and befriending an aft guest is a good one too! :)

Thanks!
