Wine Package

Yes, it is called the Viva Vino package. (If you search that name in previous posts, the list is posted on a few of them). When you get on board, go to the atrium where they have staff taking reservations for restaurants and also a table where you can see the wine selections for Viva Vino. You need to fill out which ones you want.

They have good wine tasting seminars on sea days too, we did a couple at $15.pp

I have the lists, packages, and prices. I just need to figure how to get it from iBooks to here ;)

Is there a good saving as opposed to buying one bottle at a time?

Yes.

I usually get the middle package, which works out at $24 a bottle. Some of the bottles included sell for between $35 and $40 individually. It works out at nearly 40% off at the most.

Can you purchase a package and have the wine delivered to your cabin?

Thanks,

Ray

Ray, you may have the bottles anywhere you like on the ship! :)

I had one in the MDR.........one in the cabin........one in the Casino......:D

But seriously, yes, you CAN have them delivered to your cabin, otherwise you get slips of paper detailing your purchases and you redeem the paper slips anywhere on board. Hope that helps :)

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response. That was exactly the info I was looking for. Thank you so much

Read somewhere on these boards that Getaway was rolling out the new and improved wine lists, partnering with with Mondavi or Beringer? Cannot recall

It is the Mondavi family.

http://www.fodors.com/news/mondavi-family-develops-new-wine-list-for-norwegian-cruise-line-7347.html

I've been anxiously awaiting news on this as I'm a huge wine fan, but find Mondavi to be limiting with my more eclectic tastes.

I can't quite read the above posted list (but thank you for posting it) but now that I know there's something new out there, it's time to scour the internet for a different image.

Can you post a better image when you get a chance? Not sure if it's because I'm on my iPhone, but the quality is really bad and I can't read any of the wine names.

If you buy the package or any bottle of wine at dinner and you don't finish it will they mark it and hold it or do you take it with you and bring it where you dine the the next time? This will only be my 2nd time on NCL the other was a weekend cruise so this wasn't an issue. On other ships dining room is the same so I never think about it.

Thanks

They will hold it for you if you want, or you can take it with you if you rather do that.

I'm a Royal Caribbean cruiser who's contemplating a cruise on Breakaway later this year. We traditionally get RCI's "Wine & Dine" package which lets us pre-purchase a certain number of bottles, but we don't pre-specify which bottles we want, and the bottles we choose each night are served in the main dining room or a specialty restaurant.

From what I'm gathering from NCL's wine package, when I purchase the package, I must choose which wines I want at that time? Is that correct?

Here is the accepted procedure.

You look at half bottle of wine left and you yell over to my table and I come get it. LOL!

Actually, another alternative is to finish it off and take the glass(es) of wine with you. To another location or even your cabin.

Nope. Last time we picked the level and told them what we wanted when we ordered at dinner or for our suite. I do not know if this has changed recently...be hard to pick ahead before you know your meal choices...at least for some folks.

I've bought the package 4 times in the last couple of years and every time I had to select the wine I wanted when ordering. You are given slips that you exchange for the wine when you want it.

People on here have reported being able to change the wine when get them though. I've never tried it myself.
