West Coast Cruise Cell Question

We're on the Century from LA to Vancouver in May and wanted to know if while at sea our Verizon cell phones would have service?

IT depended on how far from land we were. It was on and off for us. We decided not to turn it on at all until we were at each of the ports.

Hi :) When we take our own boat out we lose service about 5 miles out give or take a bit.

They will have service through the ship throughout the voyage but probably will not be able to use land towers as the ship stays far enough from the shore to be able to open the casino

Be careful because your phone will not indicate if it is connected to the Celebrity system or Verizon, so you may be racking up charges while thinking you're on a shore service.

Our phone always showed what system we were connected to... if you've signed up for Celebrity's service it let us know when we were connected.

 

We kept our phones in airplane mode when not using, & kept our data turned off no matter what.

Confused on the last post. You don't 'sign up' for phone service. Were you talking data?
