cjefffg24 Posted January 16, 2014 #1 Share Posted January 16, 2014 I have an antibiotic that I've been taking for a sinus infection (prescribed this past Monday), and I sail out on Saturday, will I have a problem taking it on board? What about some Nyquil?
PSCruiser Posted January 16, 2014 #2 Share Posted January 16, 2014 No problem - there is no screening of that type at the pier.
leaveitallbehind Posted January 16, 2014 #3 Share Posted January 16, 2014 OK to take any OTC and prescription meds on board. Suggest - in particular with prescriptions - taking them in your carry on, not packed in your suitcase.

cb at sea Posted January 16, 2014 #5 Share Posted January 16, 2014 You may bring whatever meds. you need!
mailmama Posted January 16, 2014 #6 Share Posted January 16, 2014 Keep meds in the original prescription bottle. No one will question you as you go through airport screening nor at the pier. Just makes life easier...and we all need that!!
StampedersFans Posted January 16, 2014 #7 Share Posted January 16, 2014 We just got back (last night) from our cruise. Here's what we did. Prescriptions in original bottle in carry on or purse. Daily vitamins/herbs in a plastic baggie in suitcase. Have never had a problem. My Dad took all his vitamins and herbs in their original bottles and they took up a plastic shopping bag. My husband and my pills were filled part of a small ziplock sandwich bag.
summersigh Posted January 16, 2014 #8 Share Posted January 16, 2014 We always bring small amounts of all kinds of OTC meds ... Be Prepared is my motto :D:D ... as well as a slew of DH's Rx meds. We've never had a problem although I've always kept the meds in original packaging/bottles just in case.
Esilef Posted January 16, 2014 #9 Share Posted January 16, 2014 If worried take a letter from your doctor stating the medication you are on. We have never had an issue.
Esilef Posted January 16, 2014 #10 Share Posted January 16, 2014 If worried take a letter from your doctor stating the medication you are on. We have never had an issue. Another benefit of the letter is that if you have to see another doctor whist traveling they can see what medications your own doctor has approved
