ducklite Posted January 28, 2014 #26 Share Posted January 28, 2014 Paleo freaks! Anywho.... I'm gonna be posting a bit today cause I am home and have the time and helps keep me on track. Are my oatmeal and just worked out on my wii fit :). Now Hh is playing on it! Lol Bout to whip up that cucumber sandwich. It will be hard not to put mayo on it. Lol. It's starting to ice here. Trying not to make this a cocktail kind of day. Lol Instead of mayo, try creamed avocado, it's super healthy and loaded with "good" fats. A little goes a very long way as a spread. Instead of a cocktail, have a club soda with a little lemon or lime, or drop a few fresh raspberries into it. By the way, a half cup of fresh berries is only 35 calories and loaded with vitamins and antioxidants and is great to add flavor to plain oatmeal. The natural sugars sweeten it, so you don't need to add any extra sugar. Autocorrect responsible for most typos...

artymis77 Posted January 29, 2014 #28 Share Posted January 29, 2014 Wow! I apparently missed a bunch. Lol Started my snowy day with a smoothie. Snacks were almonds, a banana and a protein bar. Lunch was turkey on whole wheat with carrot sticks. Dinner was pan seared steak with brown rice and broccoli. I drank water all day with tea with dinner. The bridges in town are closed due to our unusual Louisiana weather so the gym is out. I'll be making it tomorrow though. cio541 Posted January 29, 2014 #29 Share Posted January 29, 2014 I don't get on here every day and then had trouble finding it :) Anyhow I am going for more of a lifestyle change then a "diet" trying to learn habits I can live long term with. Like not skipping meals which I am very very guilty of. Eating more fresh fruits and vegetables, lowering my sodium (for high blood pressure), eating more whole grain and less processed, and cutting out almost all red meat cept the occasional splurge (like prime rib night on the cruise lol) Meals today Breakfast 1 cup special K with Milk and Orange Chai tea with artificial sweetener and 35 calories of cream Snack: my one allowed (per week) coffee stand chai using skim milk. I have cut way back on these and am saving the money for the cruise Lunch Mixed Green Salad (no iceburg) Onions hard boiled egg (or chicken breast I vary today was egg) this thai dressing I buy from the lady who makes it, if I could just figure out whats in it lol but its my salad plurge Dinner: Pork Loin (4 oz) trimmed of fat 1 Yukon Potato sliced 1 table spoon olive oil to lightly fry potatoes (good oil at least) salad We have chicken or ground turkey most nights throw in some tuna. Any bread or pasta we have is usually whole grain, same with rice, and I have recently started mixing Quinoa with the rice,
cio541 Posted January 29, 2014 #30 Share Posted January 29, 2014 forgot to say what exercise I am doing. I live in the boonies. I am not gonna drive 25 miles for a gym. so I make do. I walk as often as I can. I use WII Fit (mostly advanced step and Island Run) I do the 10 minute videos on Sparkpeople for strength

ducklite Posted January 29, 2014 #32 Share Posted January 29, 2014 Google Bryan Kest and try a couple of his videos. Some of the best strength training you'll ever get along with flexibility. No equipment needed, although I suggest a yoga mat and block, both of which can be found for under $30 combined on ebay or Amazon. I took a 2.5 hour physical class with him last week and still feel it in my core--and I'm in good shape to begin with. I suggest finding one of the shorter videos to start. Twenty minutes a day with him and you'll lose weight and build insane abs, legs, shoulders, and arms. Autocorrect responsible for most typos... lsugrl Posted January 29, 2014 Author #33 Share Posted January 29, 2014 Neaux Sneaux Day Part 2! Off on another Snow Day-even though we have had no snow but lots of ice :( Other than a few cocktails I had yesterday I did very well! The cucumber sandwich was awesome and so good my HH ate half of it! Instead of mayo I used mustard and red wine vinegar. Today's plan is: Breakfast - 1.5 fried eggs with one slice of whole grain toast and I splurged with a sweet tea :) Lunch - salad :) with or without turkey Snack - banana Dinner - leftover chili possibly. Not sure yet. Workout - gonna do some step on the wii fit :)

artymis77 Posted February 2, 2014 #46 Share Posted February 2, 2014 Hey y'all! I've had a roller coaster weekend. Friday was going great until I was 2-3 minutes from completing my circuit workout when I blacked out. Thankfully my husband was there and 5 hours of tests in the ER later, they said I was dehydrated. Drink lots and lots of water everyone! Iced tea is not a substitute! Yesterday, my husband was off (which almost never happens on a Saturday) and we took our kids to New Orleans for a family day. Today is catch up on house work day. I started today off with Special K protein plus mixed with Special K cinnamon pecan, blueberries and almond milk. Have a great day! You'll get the same nutrients for half the calories and a much fuller feeling. :) If you are doing daily exercise and building muscle, you might not lose weight. Worry more about inches and body fat percentage as your metrics. Over the past three months my weight has gone up a pound but I've lost a dress size--because I've been building muscle. Sent from my iPad using Forums Glad to hear you are OK. Definitely don't rely on iced tea instead of water! Tea is a natural diuretic and can actually cause you to lose fluids faster than you take them in. Water, water, and more water. 80 ounces a day minimum! Add a cup of water for every cup of beverage with alcohol or caffeine that you drink in top of that. Autocorrect responsible for most typos...
