Booking complementary dinner

We were offered a complementary dinner for 2 at Cagney's. I can now book my dinners online. Question is when booking they want a payment on NCL page. Do you have to make payment up front and they refund you? Anybody have experience with this? Thanks :)

You can just as well wait until you are onboard, after boarding just go to restaurant reservations desk or call 050 from any phone to make your reservation - much easier without hassle of refunding etc.

This is true, we could wait but the night we wanted only has 9:30 and 10pm left, so in order to pick an earlier dinner on a different night we would most likely have to book early? I wasn't sure if there was a code or if you pay up front that's all.

39 days to go :)

If you book online, you must always prepay with credit card (either purchase the dining package or pay each reservation separately).

However only a fraction (most here say about a third) of tables are even bookable online to begin with. If you book right after boarding you will definitely get a reservation made for your desired time.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. Everyone is so helpful

No problem. :) I'm sure there are a lot of new things for a newbie NCL cruiser but if anything worries you, ask away and I'm sure you'll find help here - at least you can probably avoid most dissapointments and get your expectations on right level by researching and not expecting everything being like with Carnival. ;)

if you want to secure a particular time and date for your comp dinner, you can book on line. Explain it to them at Cagney's (or to your concierge if you have a suite) and they will refund the cover charges to your On Board Account.

If you're not tied to a particular date and time, then waiting until you're onboard should be fine.

Latitude reward packets are in your room upon boarding & I don't think Platinum dinner slip gives Cagney as one of the choices. I know if your Gold with the casino, you can make any choice, but no Ocean Blue. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. We use Platinum coupons for Le Bistro ...

They are for Le Bistro, but can be used for any specialty restaurant that is the same price (or less). I can't remember if Cagney's is more expensive. If it is, can't be used there.

In your case I would just wait until I board the ship and book it that afternoon. There will be a table set up in the atrium area for booking specialty dining.
