tymike Posted February 13, 2014 #3 Share Posted February 13, 2014 Breakaway. :) I sailed on the Dawn without kids and had a great time and sailed on the Breakaway with kids ranging from age 12-20. Breakaway wins big time for kids as there is so much more for them to do! So I ditto the above! Enjoy!:)
ilovewdw Posted February 13, 2014 #4 Share Posted February 13, 2014 We have sailed the Dawn twice with kids and will be sailing the Breakaway on Sunday. Even though I haven't sailed Breakaway yet, I'm thinking Breakaway will be MUCH better for kids. I didn't really LOVE the Dawn. That said, I have a Dawn Bermuda cruise booked out of Boston this July. Can't beat a good deal to my FAVORITE port! :D
ROIE01581 Posted February 14, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted February 14, 2014 Comparing the price and that we are in Mass we are going for the Dawn. It would be a rented bus to get all 15 people to NY and back plus the added cost of the cabins. They should enjoy it, they want Disney again, but the cost is to high for that too. Now I just have to make sure they don't pack the Wii or the x boxes. thanks
dexddd Posted February 14, 2014 #6 Share Posted February 14, 2014 In terms of kids and the Dawn, there is a nice kids pool area including a hot tub on the back of the ship. It is geared towards smaller kids though - like 7 or 8 and under so that will fit some of your group. The main pool on the Dawn has a main pool, one small pool the other side of the stage and hot tubs but no slides.
jdvmd Posted February 14, 2014 #7 Share Posted February 14, 2014 Definitely comparing apples to oranges! But I like both! We took our teen on the Dawn last summer and there were tons of others teens and kids. Lots of family groups. I would go with the best price since you have quite a few.
