Elite Plus 10% off beverage package

As Elite Plus, I am entitled to 10% off the price for a beverage package. This weekend I called Celebrity to book a beverage package (123 promo does not apply to transatlantic bookings), knowing that the pre-cruise price was being eliminated after Feb. 18. The website shows “If you purchase a beverage package pre-cruise the discount will be taken once onboard at the pre-cruise price. If you purchase onboard you will pay the onboard price of the beverage package and get the 10% discount off that onboard price.” I contacted Celebrity to find out how it worked. I was told that I didn’t even need to pay for the beverage package now; they would send my “order” to the ship, and the cost would show up as an on-board account charge. The 10% deduction would be applied then. I asked for a written confirmation of this, and was emailed a “Product summary” page which shows my purchase at the pre-cruise price and refers to it as “payment pending.”

I was surprised that I didn’t need to actually purchase it (as I would for a specialty restaurant or shore excursion) but am satisfied with the way it is being applied – assuming, of course, that there are no “oops” along the way.

Does the 10% discount apply to the upgrade when you have a classic package as part of the 123 program?

I called Celebrity 3 weeks ago & asked if the

10% disc applies to upgrades from Classic to Premium

for Elite +.

The answer was a resounding "NO".

Of course knowing Celebrity the rules may have

changed by today--LOL
