Norwegian Sun - Port Debarkation Deck - Southern Caribbean itinerary

I am not the expert here but the bottom most deck is used for TENDERING almost

at the water line (Think it is the "A" Deck).

For ports with docks or berths the "Atlantic Deck" number -5- is the normal embark/debark.

Deck 5 is where registration; shore excursions and the elevator atrium is located.

Deck 0 I think, or one.....you had to go down the elevators all the way and it was the last deck or bottom deck on the elevator.

Unlike at least some Carnival ships, on NCL ships the deck numbering matches reality, on smaller ships deck 4 is usually the lowest passenger deck.

It's deck 3 on the SUN.

The elevators have Deck 3 button and it works only when ship is in port.

Also when we met in Stardust for the NCL tours, we were escorted to crew area to go down 3 flights from deck 6 to 3, to the gangway.

Getting on and off the Sun in Miami, it's promenade deck 6.

Correct. Just got off that itinerary on the Sun yesterday. Another awesome cruise! Every port exited off Deck 3. POM embarkation and debarkation on Deck 6.

Thank you Jayne - with all the different answers, we were going to roll the dice. Funny, the NCL deck plans show the guest entrances on deck 5, and doesn't indicate anything about the entrance on deck 6. So I'm really confused.

Anyway, would love to hear what excursions you did, especially in Aruba, Curacao, St Thomas and St Marteen.

Curious - why does it matter at this point? They will tell you many times once onboard, and have signs directing people to the proper place.

(hope that did not sound harsh....)

It matters to us because we are considering changing cabins (as the prices have dropped) and we don't want to be in a place where people would be lining up to exit the ship.

In the meantime, I just called NCL and they told me that the deck plan is correct - embarkation/debarkation at the Port of Miami is on Deck 5 and port embarkation/debarkation is on Deck 4 aft.

Ha Ha , they are just land people who may never have set their foot on the SUN.

I was on the SUN TWICE!!!! And I clearly remembered getting off and on ship via gangway on Deck 3. Tender or Dock.

The first SUN cruise was the South America itinerary and we got on at Valpa and got off at Buenos Aires via Deck 5, and when we were getting off the SUN at Port of Miami earlier this month we went down to deck 5 only to be told to go up to deck 6 to get off the ship via the promenade.

So if you are booked on Deck 4, you should be fine.
