Dinner Time & Penthouse Question

What is the earliest time we can eat dinner on Insignia? Is it a slow service?

Also, if we book a Penthouse cabin on Deck 8, is there much noise from above (the pool deck and bar)? Thank you for responding!

Dinning begins at 6:30 and the service at that time is usually as slow or fast as you would like at a table for two. If you choose to sit at a larger table it may be very slow especially if folks are eating every course.

Most people have reported very little noise from above the PH.

You can order room service anytime but as stated the restaurants open at 6:30pm

We have found some nights it is slow & others not too bad in the GDR

some dinners are 1.5 hrs to 3 hrs

You can always go to the buffet & eat as fast or as slow as you like ;)

I agree with the comments above.

If you opt for a table for two, it will be faster service. If you are at a group table, it can take longer. (Despite that fact, we prefer to share tables.)

The only times we've had really long dinners were when we were all just talking and talking.

On a couple of occasions spread over many years (between Renaissance and Oceania) we had two tables that had excessively slow service. We should have complained but did not. Both times we were at tables for 8 right by the server's station. It was hard to figure out how he didn't know we were sitting there!

Another factor is that we tend to go in for later dinners ...

We are usually in a PH on Deck 8 and have rarely been bothered by noise from above. Maybe that's just us ...

I was a waitress in high school and can tell you that it is best to speak-up. If my DH and I go to a restaurant in a mood to chat and savor our food slowly, I tell the server. If we return from a 10 hr tour, wanting GDR service at a quicker than usual pace, we convey that need as well.

We have had great service and food in every venue on our 3 Oceania cruises. I think in part this is because of good communication between ourselves and those working hard to make us happy;)
