The Wilkies Posted March 20, 2014 #4 Share Posted March 20, 2014 Nothing. Originally held quite a number of P & O shares for a long time. Got Carnival in exchange when they took them over. Sold all but 100 about 5 years ago.

smokey01 Posted March 21, 2014 #6 Share Posted March 21, 2014 I don't pay an annual charge either. I just paid a dealing charge, when I purchased them. I hold mine with halifax share dealing.
caribill Posted March 21, 2014 #7 Share Posted March 21, 2014 In the US it is, currently, $100. So it will be the equivalent in GBP That's the benefit. OP is asking about any costs associated just with owning the shares.
petlady7 Posted March 21, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted March 21, 2014 Thank you all for your replies , we are resident in France and have to pay an annual fee of 41 euros for having the share account in our French bank so maybe a good time to sell and buy through our UK bank instead
caribill Posted March 21, 2014 #9 Share Posted March 21, 2014 (edited) Thank you all for your replies , we are resident in France and have to pay an annual fee of 41 euros for having the share account in our French bank so maybe a good time to sell and buy through our UK bank instead You might be able to transfer the shares to another financial institution for less cost than selling the shares and then buying them back. In the USA there are a number online brokerage accounts with little or no fees for holding shares there. Have you checked if any French companies offer this online?
