Everything.. ESCAPE (live 29 Oct 2015!)

Recommended Posts

Looked, but couldn't find anything concerning internet for Escape. When on Oasis after refit they had installed the O3b network. It worked terrific. Does Norwegian have anything comparable to this ? I assume Escape will have state of the art internet/wifi. Thanks Gerry

As far as I know, no, the Escape will only have the same kind of internet satellite link as the previous NCL ships. NCL has no contract with O3b. By the way, the deal between O3b and RCI, with the small number of O3b satellites in action for now takes a large part of the possible bandwith yet. So NCL will have to wait for new O3b satellites to be launched or to find another satellite company.

The unlimited wifi access (around $25 a day) will be the same also. Bad as it could be :-(

I'm starting to think that maybe, just maybe, Headliners will be used as a late night dance club on Escape (in addition to being a comedy club) and that Howl at the Moon may use another venue (if indeed it is going to be onboard) such as the 5 O'clock somewhere bar/club. It will be interesting to see what they actually do.

Howl is listed as being in Headliners next Wednesday.

I made an interesting, current mixed with future, top of the megaships of 150.000 GT and up to see where Escape and her future sisters will be.

Hoping on no mistakes...

1.

Harmony of the Seas (227.700 GT) delivery in april 2016

Oasis class #4 (227.700 GT) delivery in 2018

Allure of the Seas (225.282 GT) delivered in 2010

Oasis of the Seas (225.282 GT) delivered in 2009

There is also a 4th ship in the Oasis class I believe

Thanks for the info. I am sure it will still beat semaphore or soup cans on a string ! LOL. Gerry.

Thanks for the info. I was on the Oasis in September and the wifi was pretty amazing. It was almost as fast as the wifi I have at home. And it was only $105 for unlimited access for the entire week.

Hopefully NCL gets that technology one day.

Yep, pretty much what I'm expecting . . . but will deal with it and hope for the best.

Thanks for the explanation. :)

They talk about where the night club is going to be located on the new Norwegian video on their youtube channel.

So that rules my theory out. Only venues left for late night dance club are either 5'oclock or skyliners. I'm on the crossing and there has been no update on entertainment schedule yet except the two Broadway shows and for the record.

Both the Brewhouse and 5 o'clock somewhere bars advertise live music and dancing if that counts for you.

Balcony stateroom, number unknown:

Thanks for the pic! Looks pretty much identical to the Breakaway Class except the carpet is a little different.

Is there anyway of knowing in advance where the bed is located in the cabin? Is one bed arrangement preferable over another?

Thanks!

Thanks!

That's just personal preference. It seems most people prefer the bed by the balcony. We very much prefer the bed by the closet and the couch by the balcony. We think it opens up the room much more this way. We like having the bed, closet, and bathroom stuff all right there together. Then we like having the open area in front of the couch and the balcony all as one big open living space. We think it makes the room seem much larger that way.

Thanks. It does seem nicer having the sitting area by the balcony. This is what I had on QUANTUM and I felt it did make the cabin feel large. I've never had a balcony on the Breakaway Class but the cabins look pretty similar to QUANTUM although perhaps a little smaller.

I guess there is no way to tell by looking at the deck plan? On some cruise lines you can sort of tell by the deck plan and the shape of the cabin. I think the NCL deck plan for ESCAPE just shows a rectangle.
