B of A Points Question

Recommended Posts

I haven't seen this question asked before. What does it matter if it's single or double occupancy when redeeming points for OBC? I can understand if you were using points for booking a cruise or for $ off a cruise but for OBC?

From the B of A Website:

Royal Caribbean $150 Onboard Credit - Double Occupancy

15,000 points

Royal Caribbean $150 Onboard Credit - Single Occupancy

15,000 points

I just can't figure it out. Am I missing something?

Thanks!

I believe that selection is meant to control if the OBC is split between the guests, or all goes to one guest. However, no matter what I choose, it always seems to be split. You can change it at Guest Services if you want it re-allocated.

Thanks Bob! So, you are saying it doesn't matter which I choose? (Probably not, but I thought I'd ask anyway). And besides, if it's wrong, I can tell them Bob said it was OK, right? :D :p

I redeemed some from my card recently and noted it split it even though i requested it NOT be and its MY card, not the other guests. It's annoying they even have the option if they aren't going to pay attention to it.

Not Bob but if it is 2 people linked to the same credit card it does not matter. It only matters is it is 2 people that will each have their own separate Sea Pass accounts, like 2 solos travelling together.

PS Sure you can tell them Bob said it is alright:p

They always split ours up and we have never had a problem. For a married couple, it really doesn't matter because everything ends up on one bill at the conclusion of the cruise.

They split mine too. When it's my wife and I, no problem. But we did a cruise with my son and daughter-in-law, and for the D+ discount my son and I were in one cabin and wife and daughter-in-law in another (we switched on board). They put one B of A certificate on my account, and the other on my son's. Since we switched cabins, and the $100 OBC future booking was on my wife's account, I just let him keep it. Don't know why the split it.
