The things I look forward to on my cruise are....

Recommended Posts

This question always gets me thinking. There is just so much that I love doing. I always try to accomplish all my favorites while cruising. Dh and kids with me. We always have a great time. Some of my favorite things to do while on board are as follows. Not in any particular order.

-everything...ok not fair but to break it down...

-meeting new people and continuing to communicate with them after the cruise. They are so unique in their own way.

-champagne in tow watching the pier runners(love. Love. Love this")

-enjoying formal dinners with my boys in their suits.

-seeing my room for the first time. This cruise is the first cruise we will have a grand suite balcony.

-I love meeting and knowing where the staff is from. Getting to know them is such an experience.

-waking up to a new country and having coffee on the balcony while arriving.

-leaving an island at sundown and the ships communicate with their horn.

-waving to the other cruisers on the other ships. While you don't know them..you feel like you are family.

-people watching...anywhere.

-watching our kids with their new best friends....while poolside.

There is so much more..but I would like to hear yours! Please share.

Fun topic!

I love the quality time with my sweet hubby.

I love doing what we want, when we want, no phone, no internet.

I love trying new fun drinks.

I love dressing up and going to dinner that feels like a "date" every night.

I love people watching.

I love seeing new places.

I love making new friends at dinner.

And most of all, I LOVE watching the beautiful blue sea go by!

I cannot wait until our next trip!

Simple for me;

Most, I love not having to be anywhere, or to have to call anyone, or to have to answer a telephone or an email.

I love having all that food to choose from, not having to cook it, or clean up after cooking it. I especially enjoy the MDR at dinner, the food and the wait staff who treat me so well.

I love sleeping as long as I like to, either going to bed early and getting up early or going late and sleeping late.

I love ordering room service breakfast, coffee, croissants and fruit, and lingering in my room till I feel like going out for the day.

I love the ports of call. I have not yet been to one that I did not like.

I enjoy the serenity deck, or those side decks on deck three of the conquest class ships.

I love the atrium bar for a drink before dinner.

About a dozen more things...but I wont go on. :)

Naps. Peace and quiet. Reading time. Being waited on. No cooking. No cleaning. No laundry. Deli sandwiches on demand. Coffee on the balcony. Casino to keep DH busy. ;) Smell of the ocean air. Chance to see wildlife (dolphins!) Seeing people happy and enjoying themselves all over the ship. Oh, and naps. :p

We did our first cruise last month

Standing on the deck was my absolute favorite. I would spend hours up there leaning on a rail sipping on an over priced drink and just watching the waves.

I loved standing on the deck when the ships were entering and leaving port. The captains are very talented. Watching the ship turn a 360 and back into the port at Nassau was amazing

My wife and daughter were always wore out after a day at Port. I loved shouting encouragement to the pair runners. That was a blast

I met some awesome people.

Meeting the crew and such was great. Met some interesting ones.

No Internet, no phone service. No drama from home. If there is a true emergency someone can find us. Otherwise, no contact. :p

Sailing into port. So exciting seeing our new adventure.

First drink on board. ;)

I love feeling the ship movement. Just a gentle sway.

Waving at sail away. All the cars on the road while we were leaving miami in January was so cool. All honking and waving.

I look forward to so much!

1. Being off the grid. No work e-mails. No phone. It's blissful.

2. Serenity deck.

3. Dressing up to take pictures and have nice dinners.

4. Waking up in the morning in a totally different country. Or waking up to find the ship surrounded by nothing but ocean.

5. Doing things I would never do at home. I'm terrified of heights but I'm going to parasail someday!

6. Having a drink before dinner while we people watch and meet fellow passengers.

7. The comedians. It's my go to night time activity along with deck parties.

I forgot to add the Atrium drink before dinner. Love! Before the cheers program my dh and I would brink a bottle of champagne on board and find the perfect location to enjoy it. We would always find a quiet little place to watch the islands or to just chat.

Being spontaneous is fun! We met another couple and challenged them to a game of corn hole for a bottle of champagne ... We won..they bought and we had the best time. Will not forget that.

Deck parties, people watching, star gazing, comedy club, no cooking, no cleaning, getting to know the staff, watching the sun rise from my balcony as the ocean surges around us, and not having any contact with the real world!

On Carnival cruises we look forward to taking a cruise from Charleston when they offer a 7 day which is a very convenient port for us.

Have also noticed people who cruise on Carnival are normally very happy and seem to be having a good time even when there are long lines and things many on other cruise lines would not like. Do they put Happy Pills in the water? :D

Seriously, always nice to cruise with non-whinny cruisers and one of our favorite things about Carnival. :)

  • Not having to pull out my wallet constantly!
  • Restaurant meals for a whole week
  • Not having teenagers under my feet constantly -- they actually go do things without me!
  • Spending quality time with my family
  • Sailaway
  • Not having to get in the car to go somewhere
  • Water/beach/sand
  • Serenity deck & my kindle
  • Fruit at almost every meal
  • First DoD when we board!

This thread is NOT helping the next 200+ days go by... sigh!

No internet is the best for me. I don't worry about work because I can't check email.

Seeing room for the first time is always good.

Casino is also fun.

Just being away from work I guess.:)

Seeing the decor of a new ship. I know it's the same layout but every ship is different.

Winning a ship on a stick with a new name.

Meeting people.

Different menus.

Reading. Staying away from the phone and Internet.

I love sitting on the balcony watching the ocean or the ports.

Love, love, love the NY sail away, the Statue of Liberty and going under the Verrazano bridge!

Love my first DOD that says "you're cruising!"

Love dinner in the steakhouse!

Love the Lido buffet - so much food, so little time :)

Love the Towel animals on my bed each night.

And I love the Dancing waiters - I never get tired of it!

My absolute favorite thing about cruising is not being able to see land! There is nothing like sitting in a deck chair on the back of ship, with a good book, and seeing nothing but gorgeous, blue water in every direction!
