johnnypiano Posted May 12, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 12, 2014 Does Marine AIS (Automatic Identification System) like http://www.marinetraffic.com or http://www.vesselfinder.com not work in Bermuda?
sebas030 Posted May 12, 2014 #2 Share Posted May 12, 2014 Last "season" it did work. I also, like you, noticed it does not work right now ( at least in the past 3 weeks at least... On the "port Bermuda webcam", we used to see what ship was there and the ferries and tugboats and all... but not anymore. I too wonder what is going on. jollyjones Posted May 12, 2014 #3 Share Posted May 12, 2014 It used to work but I just noticed yesterday that it doesn't anymore - I wondered if I had done something wrong! Sorry, I've no idea why.
SailBadtheSinner Posted May 14, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 14, 2014 If you go to the webcam, and drag the map to see St George, it is currently showing one boat there. It has identified the yacht Sailody, anchored/moored. SBtS

sebas030 Posted May 14, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 14, 2014 I emailed MarineTraffic.com and this is what I received: I did, a few weeks ago, a research for live webcam in Bermuda and I came across a guy how HAD last year a live cam but he said on the net, he had problems with his cam and needed a new waterproof cam to start to broadcast again. Maybe that guy could host the free equipment for MT... I will try to find that guy again.... .

sebas030 Posted May 23, 2014 #9 Share Posted May 23, 2014 I emailed MarineTraffic.com and this is what I received: GOOD NEWS ! The gentleman I sent an email to about him hosting the equipment is interested about it. He his already hosting the tracking device for the airplane, so it would be a good addition for him. Can you give me the email address of your contact at the Marine Traffic so I can put them in contact ? Would love to solve this issue :D Thank you, Sebastien
