mamakinrocks Posted May 13, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 13, 2014 Hello! We set sail on June 1st. Just wondering what, if any, toiletries I can avoid bringing. Wondering what might be stocked in the cabin and, also, what is the quality of any items. Thank you!

gerif Posted May 13, 2014 #5 Share Posted May 13, 2014 For what it's worth, I'm fine with it but DH always brings his own even when we're in a suite and get the little bottles.
Rare steamboats Posted May 13, 2014 #6 Share Posted May 13, 2014 On Allure/Oasis they used to have little bottles in all cabins while they were gone and replaced by dispensers with that body & hair stuff on all other ships. I think it was shampoo, body lotion and conditioner. But I´m not sure about it. Didn´t take detailed photos back in 2009 and 2010. steamboats
Isa65 Posted May 13, 2014 #7 Share Posted May 13, 2014 We were actually surprised that for the price you pay to sail on Allure and Oasis you only get a bar of soap. Carnival costs about half and with them you get toothpaste, razor, lotion, etc.

gerif Posted May 14, 2014 #9 Share Posted May 14, 2014 Now don't short change Allure - you actually get two bars of soap. And that stuff in the shower works great when you need to do a bit of hand laundry, too.
Sanz Posted May 14, 2014 #10 Share Posted May 14, 2014 Now don't short change Allure - you actually get two bars of soap. Is one of them bath soap? Or do I need to run out and buy a bar of soap?
Clarea Posted May 14, 2014 #11 Share Posted May 14, 2014 Is one of them bath soap? Or do I need to run out and buy a bar of soap? I don't know if the bars would be considered bath soap, but whatever they are, they are both the same.
Sanz Posted May 14, 2014 #12 Share Posted May 14, 2014 Sounds like Carnival soap. We're driving to the port. I may treat myself by buying a bar of Shea Butter soap to take along with the other 5,000 toiletry items ;) that I'm currently packing. Already have the hand foam pump soap. Last year was the first time I packed a bottle of pump soap for a cruise. My DH, who teases me about the amount of toiletries I take, asked me why I had never done it before.
