Oasis of the Seas – a Photographic Study (over 100 ship pictures)

Recommended Posts

I am hearing that the construction on the new grand suite aft cabins is not completed. I wonder if the construction on the Coastal Kitchen is also not completed. I can't imagine anyone thinking that what we saw in the pictures is adequate for a suites only restaurant. It makes sense, with so little time in drydock, that there is still a lot of "finishing" work to be done. At least I hope so because that is not an inviting space.

I won't be eligible to eat in Costal Kitchen, but my opinion is that it looks more like a dining area in a hospital. Not nearly as plush as the other complimentary dining rooms. I expected nice table cloths & plushier chairs, etc.

WOW....Coastal Kitchen looks more like Coastal Cafeteria. Makes Windjammer look positively elegant.

I thought the same thing...it's very institutional looking. Hopefully since they won't open until November 8th that's not the finished product.

Thanks so much for these pictures. I am booked in the new grand suite on 12 in February. It looks like it was a good choice (sight unseen at the time.)

Anne the aft grand? I have also booked it for Sept. b2b, will look for your pics,

Good morning from the Oasis of the seas!

A little wavy last night but easy to sleep to.

As we approach Southampton we have an escort...

Several ships sounded their horns at us and Captain Trym returned their salute.

We're now docked and headed into London for the day. More later!

Since tomorrow is a sea day, I should be able to upload more pics and respond to questions. Busy day. Also, internet was down this morning when I had an hour or so free so let's hope the internet gods are with me this evening and tomorrow!

You are doing a fantastic job! We will be on the 5 nighter when Oasis gets back, and although I too, am disappointed the VCL is gone ( along with the public balconies in the aft!), she looks great! Is there any reason why RCI split the 3 dining room levels into 3 names? Also, if you can check out the new Diamond Club lounge on deck 4, that would be appreciated ( does it have ocean views?)..have a great cruise & thanks again for all the updates & photos!

Curious about the internet speed and whether they have said anything about being on the O3b system now.

Made it off the ship in Southampton while forgetting our hop on/hop off bus tickets for London. Had to "swim upstream" and fight my way back to the cabin. We have no pounds but, luckily, was invited to share a cab to the rail station with a fellow passenger to whom we now owe a drink! I love the camaraderie shared by fellow cruisers.

Missed the 1100 train by seconds and hit up an atm at the station. We are now on our way to tour London on our own. Lovely scenery.

I love the free Wi-Fi on the train!

Thanks for the praise.

The MDR is split in prep for Dynamic Dining, supposedly coming in the Spring.

Diamond Club (with ocean views, I believe)

What speed? DH was happy to have internet at all :D (and hot water...).

The O3b system has to be tested first and I don´t know whether the satellite coverage isn´t just limited to the Caribbean. That´s what been said earlier when they first announced that system of low flying satellites.

Just looked up the O3b coverage and it looks like you are still too far north to be in their "standard" coverage area.
