To Crab Shack or Not to Crab Shack...

Having lived in Seattle for 23 years....

We found the crab to be over spiced. It definitely was not king crab, but possibly small snow crab.

To our taste (food is subjective), we did not return on a 15 day cruise....

Which ship was this on? I think the Royal only has snow. There are two different menus for the Crab Shack depending on the ship.

We definitely had king crab on the Ruby as we have king crab at every opportunity.

It certainly wasn't Tracy's but it was king.

I'm just not understanding which ships offer this and where. Can you tell me if this is offered on the Caribbean Princess? Maybe I missed something... sorry

Yes' date=' according to Sanibel Gal in post #18, it was offered when she was on the CB and it was held in Cafe Caribe, which is the aftmost section of the buffet. Happy crab-eating![/font']

Thanks! Always helpful to know what NOT to order!

This was the first week the Crab Shack was open on the Ruby so hopefully things have improved.

And it was located at Cafe Caribe on that ship as well.

No

What a waste. We got a bucket to split. There was 1 cluster of crab legs for each of us. Took 2 hours to get our order. Will never go back!!!!

Was that all you were allowed to order? or was it your choice to only order one?

That appears to be the "Mixed Steamer Selection"

and we had just the King Crab Selection without the mussels, etc.

I still can't seem to get this large enough

When I was getting ready to order the waiter said 'everyone gets the same thing' and I got the mixed steamer. That is what I planned to order, so I didn't question him. On our menu the crab legs came with peel & eat shrimp. I don't like the peel & eat part, so I didn't choose that.
