lightsleeper Posted May 28, 2014 #1 Share Posted May 28, 2014 What is the best way to get from SFO to the port and back? I assume there will be plenty of taxis to take you from the port to the airport... What is the approximate fare.

But, it is a commuter train and you'll not get off next to the ship (you'd then need to take an antique trolley for the rest of the way). Very cumbersome IMHO. Take Super Shuttle (reserve online) or taxi. I guess about $40 for taxi but don't know for sure because we're local and always drive to SFO. Rare Keith1010 Posted May 28, 2014 #4 Share Posted May 28, 2014 Best way always is up for interpretation. Major options are Bart (Subway), Taxi, Shuttle or Private Car. We use a private car. We use http://www.execucar.com Keith

There really isn't a faster or easier way to get downtown. You could then catch a cab to the port if you wanted to, or take the trolley. I've driven from SFO to downtown many times. Traffic can be hectic at times, or it can be no problem at all. I guess it depends on your criteria. If you want cheap and fast, but you'll have to transfer and walk a bit, definitely take the BART. Donray Posted July 17, 2014 #6 Share Posted July 17, 2014 Bart is Ok has long as you can get all your luggage off in a few seconds at the station and then up escalators and then find a cab. OK with only one carry on size.
