How do you know when your room is ready?

Another first timer question. Do they make an announcement when blocks of rooms or certain decks are ready, or do you just have to keep checking after a certain time? I understand they are usually ready around 1:30 on NoS, but can be delayed or early.

There will be an announcement on the 1MC/PA system.

 

Usually around 1ish.

No need to keep checking. An announcement will be made on the PA system when ALL rooms are ready (usually around 1 pm or so). They don't open them in blocks or by deck, but rather all at one time.

That and they also open up the fire doors to the cabins. I usually look for that instead of trying to listen for the announcements.

They typically announce all cabins at once.

 

You can tell the cabins are ready when the crew members stop yelling at you as you try to get past the fire doors.:eek: I'm kidding. Don't do that.
