Dawn to Bermuda - what time can you board?

Hi,

For anyone who has taken the Dawn to Bermuda over the past few weeks, what time are you able to board the ship if you are in a suite? My friends and I leave on Friday and we are trying to coordinate when to meet (to get on as early as possible, of course!)

Thanks!

We cruised the Dawn in a suite on May 16. We got to the cruiseport around 11:30 and got right in!! It took a a bit to check in, we had a suite and connecting mini suite with all the room charges going on my credit card....We were in the Bimini Bar having drinks by 12:30!!

We barely had enough time for a snack in the "suite waiting area", we were whisked on board so fast, we didnt even have our picture taken...

Comp Cruises from Foxwoods get you VIP Casino status.

You get a card for free drinks in the casino!! (i wasnt vip and i think i was the only person paying for drinks in the casino!!)

Not sure about anyother perks.

Marrgie,

What makes somebody a VIP Casino guest?

We are going on our comp cruise through Foxwoods.

Would this be consider VIP?

Will very be other perks?

Thanks in Advance

Sorry, I don't really consider myself a VIP!! The line said "VIP Casino Guests"!!

Our experience with the comp cruise from Casinos at Sea and/or Foxwoods (we've done both) is as Patty said... free drink card (house level brands, in casino only), add'l reception on first day and, some afternoon treats delivered to your cabin - I think twice during the week. Also, be sure to check with the hostess on the second to last night about "cashing" in your points as a credit on your account - unless you're cruising again within 18 months you'll lose the points...

If you're truly a VIP or high roller (NOT me!!) you get several add'l perks - free soft drink pkg, lanyards, dinner at an upcharge restaurant (e.g. Cagney's), bottle of wine, and free entry to the slot and/or blackjack tournaments onboard. We met a lady who rec'd all this on the Breakaway last winter. So, there seems to be different levels of "comps" - as you would typically find in any land casino.

This was a great question, corgidog! Thanks for asking it! I don't need to worry about boarding time for a number of months yet. If you don't mind, I would like to ask a question about the other end -- disembarking after the cruise. (not a happy thought, I know!)

I'm trying to decide what time we should book our flight home. I want to make sure we have plenty of time to get to Logan and even relax a bit before boarding our flight to ATL.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Would a noon flight be OK or should we plan to leave a little later in the day? It will be a Friday afternoon. We've considered staying overnight and flying home Saturday morning, but every time we've done that (staying the extra night) after a cruise, we've regretted it (always anxious to get home!) ;)

Are you in a suite? Suite guests and latitude gold and platinum get priority disembarktion. We were off the ship by 915. Otherwise you may be as late as 1030 or so. You may want to schedule your flight for a bit later

Thanks! Yes, we are in a suite! We'll also be carrying our luggage off with us. :)

When we leave ATL airport, we have to drive through Atlanta to get home and that can take hours! I'm already dreading trying to get home!!! lol

You will be surprise at how easy peasy it is. The concierge will have a meeting to explain disembarkation with you the last sea day. I am pretty sure you will need to meet him at the spinnaker lounge at 8 am or so, then he will walk you all off the ship as soon as it is cleared.

ahhh the suite life - you lucky ducks!!

Well, I can't complain we were onboard by 12:30 pm also - Casinos at Sea VIP line was super quick - they were very friendly and helpful

Hi Margie1221!

I'm hoping you may be able to help me...when we boarded the Dawn in Boston in May 2013 there seemed to be no Casino at Sea VIP line and we were huddled in with the masses and it took forever unlike our speedy zipline through CAS in NYC on the Jewel in 2012...we are sailing in a couple of weeks again out of Boston and I'm wondering if there really was a CAS VIP line last year and we missed it, or if I just didn't stress that we were CAS folks, or if the line is new this year? I was under the impression some ports just don't have the VIP line so I guess I just settled thinking Boston was one of them. Your thoughts? And as for finding the line you were blessed to be in, do I go left, right, or just speak up? Thanks so much in advance! Great to hear you had an easy go of it!

When we went in 2012, we were told the meeting was like 8 for suite guests in Spinnaker. We finished breakfast in Cagneys at 9 and went down then and they were still taking groups off so we went then. Were at the airport by 9:45. It is not a far ride to the airport. Normally a noon flight should be good.

Thanks! :) Our previous NCL cruises have been in suites, but we've never paid attention to when we've disembarked since our flights have always been the next day (which I've always spent longing to be home! :o)

Unless there is some major problem, you should have plenty of time. I live 15 miles south of Boston, I was home by 10 am.

We arrived at the cruise port around 10:45am and were through security and check in before 11:15am. Regular boarding for us - no suite or VIP perks but were still on board and sitting down for lunch by 12. For disembarkation - we carried our bags off and were sitting on the curb at 9:25 waiting for our ride.

Hi ya hiya! Once you go up the escalators and enter the terminal reception area - the CAS line is to the right - AFTER you go through the security checkpoint. It seemed like the CAS and suites lines were combined. Our dear older friends were allowed into the line with us - since it wasn't very busy. The staff people were very friendly and joked around with us about our friends' 50th wedding anniversary - which was that day!!!

You should be all set - super easy and quick! We had great luck on the gem and the jewel out of NY - but the Breakaway was a real mess - almost the worst part of the trip!!!

If you don't see the line, definitely assert yourself politely and they will accommodate you... Happy sailing!
