Taxis in France

We will be on the LOS in a week. We are a family of 5. On our past trips to Spain we have always had to take two taxis because Spain only allows four in a cab. Is this true of France as well?

I've pretty much found three to be the maximum, assuming all are adults.

Not aware of a law about it but can't imagine putting five in a regular taxi.

Three adults pretty much the max but a family of four with say two kids could go in a sedan.

We took a minivan in Le Havre last October and shared with three other fellow passengers, there were a number of mini van typed taxis on dock in taxi line, you could be lucky or ask a cab driver to radio for a larger vehicle to travel together.
