There are plenty of places to sail that are warmer in that part of the world. Plus the ship is a destination itself with the casino and other amenities.

 

Yes, Shanghai can get fairly cold. See this temperature chart for December.

Agreed. Very similar winter time climate to New York City. I guess that makes even more sense to send this class of ship there given it's indoor design. I'm not sure where the ship will be sailing to, I've not looked it up, but it does appear like the ship is going to be clocking a lot of miles to get to warmer/tropical destinations in the Winter months.

Sailing south, probably can reach ports like Xiamen, China as well as Hainan Island, China. Maybe even Hong Kong. These places should be significantly warmer than Shanghai in winter.

Hong Kong can still be cool in Winter,

They need to send her south to Australia or West to Singapore for a bit of warmth!

They said 3 to 8 night itins to Japan and Korea, so not anywhere warmer.
