shredie Posted June 27, 2014 #26 Share Posted June 27, 2014 The reason I mentioned taking his card is so there was proof that they are not serving more people than they planned. I figured 2 invitations (cards) = 2 people. I understood that point. No dishonesty involved in that case. If they ask if your sister is "Mr. John Smith" I guess you could lie about it and try to "cheat,":) but I honestly think there will be no trouble whatsoever. Even in the unlikely case they tell your sister to vacate the premises, there would be someone there among the passengers who would be happy to help you with food and drinks. If I'm there, you just holler! :)
sherryf Posted June 27, 2014 #27 Share Posted June 27, 2014 I think they would allow someone non-Platinum to escort a disabled Platinum person. I don't think you'd even have to mess with the card. I completely agree with this. Kellanrevere, go and enjoy and don't let anyone make you feel you are "cheating"!
Dreamer333 Posted June 27, 2014 #28 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Will they let my sister in with me if she has my DH card ? I'd hate to miss it, other Platinum friend went with me on the Royal. Yes, you can. I made Platinum status before my husband did and it was made clear he was welcome to join me.
caribill Posted June 27, 2014 #29 Share Posted June 27, 2014 You can have my share. I love shrimp too, but I find that they are too wet and soggy when there's the fountain. What Pia does not want
Pia1913 Posted June 27, 2014 #30 Share Posted June 27, 2014 LOL. Too funny Bill. You might as well show all the other stuff I don't eat. ;)
Rare geoherb Posted June 27, 2014 #31 Share Posted June 27, 2014 If you really love shrimp, just order a double or triple shrimp cocktail each night in the dining room. One of our tablemates did this on a cruise.
marne001 Posted September 13, 2014 #32 Share Posted September 13, 2014 More for me! I haven't found any shrimp yet I won't eat. (Knock on wood!) I think they would allow someone non-Platinum to escort a disabled Platinum person. I don't think you'd even have to mess with the card. I have always taken someone with me and in most cases they are not P/E/Suite pax; never been a problem. I simply ask the ship's Hostess as I enter is if is "...OK to bring brother/mother/friend/boyfriend with me who is on their first cruise and if not we will leave". They have always happily invited my guest in with me. Again, I ask permission and not assume a thing.

Before I made Platinum, higher-echelon friends would ask staff if I could join them in the lounge and I was always welcomed. (Though this was on cruises where the Lounges weren't full to capacity.) Now that I'm Elite, of course, everyone simply bows, scrapes, and prostrates themselves before me. (By the bye, last week on the Star, the P/E Lounge in Skywalkers was always unmonitored. There was a little sign at the bottom of the escalator, but nobody checked nothin'.) Edited September 14, 2014 by shepp
