Aug 30th Legend 23 day cruise to Australia. As the cruise is just part of our 5 week vacation we wanted to go on the cheap.

Inside cabin, deep in the belly of the beast.

$1629 per person

$4077 total, cabin, taxes, port charges and gratuities

Given that the flight home is costing us $1600, if you backed out the cost of flying to Australia from the cruise cost the cruise is a bargain of a way to get down under. Not to mention we are getting those South Pacific ports to enjoy

We are set to sail on March 22, 2015 on the Magic. It had been awhile since our last cruise so I wanted to go one step up. I booked the Premium Vista (aft wrap) 9C. It was $1144/pp, with port fees, taxes & gratuity's $153.85/pp. My mother was ill when I booked so I took out the insurance $119/pp. Total cost $2833.70. I have paid it in full.

In this time I had lost my mom but with the kind of year I am having I am keeping the insurance. I keep checking to see if there is a price drop, none as of yet. I am not counting on one, but an obc would be nice.

It has been about 5 years since we took a Carnival Cruise. We are sailing Sunday for 8 days on the Magic. I had a free cruise (casino offer) so we paid $333 for both of us, just the fees, taxes and prepaid gratuities. This is a cabin with a porthole. I also booked another free one under the same promotion for Jan of 2015. I have never heard of Carnival doing this, so I guess we really just lucked out. Enjoy your cruising everyone!!

I booked a cruise for April 2015 on the Pride a few weeks ago. Price was $669 PP. 8E on Verandah. Booked ES so I am anxiously awaiting price drops, still have a lot of time, however I think they will go up before they ever go down. Last April, I only received a $35.00 price drop and that was 1 week after I booked the cruise 5 months in advance! :(

Have never sailed on carnival....IF I book thru Carnival, will there most likely be upgrades or price drops?

Our last cruise was on RC and I booked thru a TA and didn't get any price drops.

Why does what someone else paid for a cruise matter to anyone else ? It's not like the prices are hidden from public view, they are open to the public to see. If someone gets a " free " casino cruise, great for them, but that cruise isn't really free is it ? They most likely lost so much money in the casino they want more of their money. I usually cruise in the off season and save a lot of money, example, my next cruise costs $429 in August, I took the same exact cruise in November and paid $189. Some ports, as well as time of year just cost more. Just like the saying goes, sometimes your the bug, sometimes the windshield, if you paid a high price then well, your the bug, better luck next time.

I tell everything I know anyway. So here goes. LOL

Ok I am doing a back to back Sept to Oct. Was going thru carnival but they dropped the offer on the port hole rooms. So I booked offsite. Had to pay a 24.99 booking fee ( included in price listed )- but I got the port hole room I wanted. The room I could have had without the booking fee - if I had booked a few days ago. Lesson learned. LOL

Sept Conquest 1A room 578.65

Oct Conquest 1A room 557.29.

I still owe tip fees, but I am really happy to get 7 nights for that price.

April 5th, 2015 sailing on the Dream, cove balcony, 7 night Eastern, $769 per person. After taxes/fees, and airport transfers it comes out to $1969.64. I booked ES, so I'm hoping for a little bit of a price drop. This is about on par with what we paid on the Magic in a cove this past April, and at the time of sailing it was about $719 per person, so we had a little bit of OBC.

$2443 for 7 day on Conquest, deck 7 balcony for 4 people. This was last month in June.

Two years ago in July, we paid $1403 (same amount of people) for a 4 day on Imagination in an interior. Smh. That was too much IMO.

Our upcoming cruise on the Pride is $232 per person for a balcony on deck eight. Our cruise this past January was only $102 pp (for taxes) for a balcony on deck seven, again on the Pride.

I am THAT girl- you know the one who can only cruise during Christmas, Spring Break, and summer. This is my 5th cruise, but 1st summer cruise. We averaged on all other cruises paying between $2,500-$3,600 for an interior. CRAZY!

Imagine my surprise when I received a free cabin offer from the casino. It was too good to pass up. So, my August 9th cruise cost my a grand total of $414.84 for an 8d balcony on Lido. (Would've been free if I'd stuck to an interior.)

Happy cruising everyone!

Woo hoo for you. Congrats!!!!!

I took the free casino one last year. We are use to the interior rooms so we didn't upgrade.

We are too, but I wanted to splurge since I've graduated and completed my teacher certifications.
