I don't know of any public transport from the Port of Miami to Port Everglades.

Is there public transport available? Taxi only? Thanks in advance Can you rent a car and drive up the coast? It's always nice to stop and have lunch somewhere on the beach then board late. Taxi isn't a bad option. You can take your time eating breakfast, be the last people off the ship, leave the Port of Miami about ten, and arrive at Port Everglades in time to board early right before 11AM. Cab will cost about $100 including tax and tip.
JohninDC Posted June 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Hi, our transatlantic cruise arrives in Miami on November 8 2015 and on that same day we need to get to the Port of Fort Lauderdale to catch our next cruise. Is there public transport available? Taxi only? Thanks in advance There is no public transport between the two ports, which are about a 40-45 minute drive from each other. You could use a shared shuttle from POM - check with SAS (http://www.ridesas.com), Go Airport Shuttle, QLS and others often suggested on this board. Typical fare from POM to FLL start at about $15 per person, so expect to pay a few $$ more (and likely stop at FLL first) to get to PE. If you can shuttle to FLL a taxi from there to PE is only $15 (for the cab, not per person), so do not let a shuttle operator try to take advantage of you. As mentioned above, a rental car with a stop for lunch and shopping for cruise supplies is a great idea, as long as you are comfortable driving on the correct side of the road. National, Alamo and Thrifty offer free shuttles from POM to their MIA airport location; there are a few others (Avis, etc.) located close to POM (about a $12+ cab ride from POM) but they can get overwhelmed when a ship arrives. You could try a limo/car service - Larry's Limo is often suggested here for Miami service; expect prices similar to cab fare. If any of this helps you owe me a pint! ;)
