gsu_paintballer Posted June 27, 2014 #1 Share Posted June 27, 2014 (edited) Which of these would you guys recommend? Underlined ports are repeats for us. We wouldn't normally book 18 mos in advance, but I'm willing to do it to lock in the rate and 123GO promo. Option #1: http://www.celebritycruises.com/cruises/cruise-package-SM07D135?packageid=SM07D135&shipCode=SM&dest=CARIB Barbados St Lucia Antigua St Maarteen St Thomas Option #2 http://www.celebritycruises.com/cruises/cruise-package-SM07D134?packageid=SM07D134&shipCode=SM&dest=CARIB Tortola Martinique Dominica St Kitts St Thomas Edited June 27, 2014 by gsu_paintballer
New Hampshire Posted June 27, 2014 #2 Share Posted June 27, 2014 We did the Option 1 itinerary in March and loved it. I notice a change in the Option 2 itinerary you printed. In March, St. Croix was one of the ports. It seems to have been replaced with Tortola. Which is the better option depends on what you like to do the most. We have been to all of these ports before, some numerous times. We are now most interested in sailing catamarans, snorkeling and beaches. For us, Option 1 would be our choice. Dominica is not a beach island. It is more about hiking and exploring. I was to Martinique years ago and it was one of my least favorite islands ever. Tortola affords one the opportunity of sailing and snorkeling in the BVI waters which is absolutely wonderful. To me, that would be the most appealing part of Option 2. need2bespoiled Posted June 27, 2014 #3 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Barbados, St. Lucia and Antigua are among our favorite islands, so we'd chose option 1. In fact, we did for April 2015, but we also are on option 2, for a B2B :D Happy sailing, Jenna
CoralReef Posted June 27, 2014 #4 Share Posted June 27, 2014 If you like beaches and shopping, option 1. Nature and hiking, option 2. We are option 2 folks, but have been to all these islands and loved them, as well as Summit. You really can't go wrong.
Negrilgirl Posted June 27, 2014 #5 Share Posted June 27, 2014 I vote for option 1. Antigua and St Marteen has wonderful beaches. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
Negrilgirl Posted June 27, 2014 #6 Share Posted June 27, 2014 Tried to upload photos of the beaches. Not sure what happened. Let's try again! Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
phoenix_dream Posted June 27, 2014 #7 Share Posted June 27, 2014 I would go with Option 1. Dominica is a beautiful island, but there is not all that much to do there unless you are into mountain hiking in steamy weather :p. Definitely not a shopping or beach type of island. Have not been to Martinique in years but when I was there the people were, to be kind, less than friendly and not very happy to see hoards of passengers streaming onto their island. We were really taken aback at the lack of hospitality. Has that changed in recent years? I honestly don't know. To each their own of course - some people love these islands. I stay on the ship now if I stop in Dominica, and have no burning desire to go back to Martinique for the reasons mentioned.
davekathy Posted June 28, 2014 #8 Share Posted June 28, 2014 We did both itineraries on the Summit March/April 2014 as a B2B Cruise. Fantastic!!

jkgourmet Posted June 28, 2014 #10 Share Posted June 28, 2014 (edited) And here's one more way to look at it: would you rather repeat St Kitts or St. Maarten? Edited June 28, 2014 by jkgourmet
bachcruise Posted June 28, 2014 #11 Share Posted June 28, 2014 That's a tough one.. I really like both. I'd probably choose the option that goes to Barbados. One of my favorite places. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
Dancin85 Posted June 28, 2014 #12 Share Posted June 28, 2014 I chose option #1 for our cruise, therefore I am biased. :) Sent from my BNTV600 using Forums mobile app
gsu_paintballer Posted June 28, 2014 Author #13 Share Posted June 28, 2014 And here's one more way to look at it: would you rather repeat St Kitts or St. Maarten? We don't go to those until 12/2014 for the first time on the Silhouette. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
