Alaskan weather

Our first cruise to Alaska was in July many years ago. We had many days where the temperatures were in the 80's. It was so warm in Juneau, that Mendenhall Glacier was melting more than normal and causing some flooding. The buses couldn't even get near the sight.

Last August and September we wore bermudas in Vancouver, Ketchikan, Juneau and Sitka.

Hey Gang:

I was sweating in Juneau yesterday. Am in Skagway today and the air is cool but the sun is very warm. I have never seen it so sunny in these parts. Will be in Ketchikan on Monday and will be most interested to see if the sun is shining. I have never been in Ketchikan when it didn't rain at least part of the day.

WOW! Hammybee! Remember us! Debbie & Mike...we met on a cruise once before! It was the cruise before 9/11. Was it the Europe cruise?
I can't believe you are in Alaska! We are leaving on Monday the 21st and we are arriving in Fairbanks. We are doing a land tour first and then on the 27th sailing on the Statendam! Stopping in Seattle on July 4th and 5th...having dinner in the space needle on the 4th! Great to see you are cruising!

I've been in Ketchikan three times and it did not rain any of those days! I went snorkeling in early May this year -- okay, so it was 50 but it was sunny!!!

On our 14 day trip, we only had 1.5 days of bad weather -- sun at the glacier, sun in Sitka, sun everywhere !!!
