agabbymama Posted July 4, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 4, 2014 Well, joke or not, our cruise from Vancouver to Los Angeles was indeed a VERY ROUGH RIDE one night. We had rain in Vancouver and Nanaimo, then in Victoria the winds blew a roof off the building on the pier. Then the port of Astoria was cancelled totally because of the rough seas. We had the glasses, bottles of water, and anything else that wasn't tied down flying all over our cabin. We awoke to glass broke all over the floor, the beds and us. The ship sounded like it was breaking up. Scared the living daylights out of us. We survived, but it was the roughest seas we have encountered out of our 7 cruises. I remember that night and what a mess you had in your cabin! That was a fun cruise, but we sure missed out on a lot due to the horrific winds and rain, didn't we? Had a nice birthday dinner in the steakhouse for a few celebrants, including you, as I recall. Becki in Toledo
