Affectionate nicknames for Celebrity ships...

I know the Constellation is known as the Connie and the Millennium as the Millie...are there affectionate nicknames for any of the other Celebrity ships?

I have heard the Silhouette referred to as the "Silli" Why people insist on referring to ships with cute little affectionate names is beyond me. I don't get it, is this a Celebrity thing? I have never heard any Princess ships given a cute little abbreviated nickname? HAL?

We now always refer to the Equinox as the Poultrinox-the name really has stuck with us.

 

We were also on the inaugural sailing of the Silhouette and someone on the roll call always referred to her as the Silly-wet.

The only two that I have ever heard are Connie and Millie. The others really don't need nick names. Always reminds me of Gracie Allen she would say that her name is Grace but they call her Gracie for short.

Even when we called the old Celebrity Zenith the "Boom Boom" ship because there were often boom-boom sounds, it was meant with affection. Loved that ship. :)

The nicknames started on this board with Millennium and I truly believe it started because it was a pain in the butt to type whether you knew how to spell it or not.
