heyabbott Posted July 11, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 11, 2014 Ship docks at 1:30. Not interested in Atlantis waterpark or spending $85 a person for a few hours on the beach excursion. Is there a beach we can spend a few hours on by taking a cab? Sent from my iPad using Forums

Sent from my iPad using Forums A lot of people may suggest Junkanoo Beach which is a public beach, but the one time we walked there we were NOT impressed! It was dirty with a lot of shady characters. Personally we stay on the ship in Nassau......sorry..... :o
TEXASMUNK Posted July 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2014 We have done it, no problems, no hassles, totally enjoyable day
sjb317 Posted July 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted July 11, 2014 We've been to Junkanoo several times. We walk there, it's free and it's an ok beach for a few hours. We've never had any problems, and I've always felt safe there. Sherri:)
Littlefox925 Posted July 12, 2014 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2014 Someone here referred me to resortforaday.com and they have a British colonial hilton pass for 60$ a person which includes a 40$ food and beverage credit at the hotel. Likely what we'll be doing on our upcoming cruise in October! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

babyblue78 Posted July 12, 2014 #8 Share Posted July 12, 2014 We got a day pass at the Sheraton on Cable Beach, it was great! We took the jitney, but you could also take a cab.
Rare Kteacher Posted July 12, 2014 #9 Share Posted July 12, 2014 We walked to Junkanoo Beach-perfectly fine for a few hours. We had time to go to Da Fish Fry for lunch, and then John Watlings Rum Distillary, where you can do a free self guided tour and sample the rum. Rare DragonOfTheSeas Posted July 12, 2014 #10 Share Posted July 12, 2014 We took a cab to Cabbage beach. It is actually on Paradise Island. [sort cab ride]. We were able to rent chairs and umbrella. It is just down the beach from Atlantis. It is a pretty decent beach and there were p[lenty of cabs to take us back.
denamo Posted July 12, 2014 #11 Share Posted July 12, 2014 Last time we were in Nassau, we walked over to Junkanoo Beach. There were a couple of other ships in port, so there were other cruisers there. Felt totally safe. Could rent a beach chair and there were some concession stands there, but we didn't eat. Wasn't the best beach we've ever been to, but it was fine.

OCruisers Posted July 12, 2014 #13 Share Posted July 12, 2014 August Just wanted to make sure you were going when it would be warm because it can get quite chilly in the winter. The British Colonial Hilton is a good choice. :) LuLu

rxgirl05 Posted July 12, 2014 #15 Share Posted July 12, 2014 We went to junkanoo beach in may for a few hours with 2 toddlers and it was fine. It's about a 10-15 min walk from the port.
bandp407 Posted July 12, 2014 #16 Share Posted July 12, 2014 You can consider the Melia on Cable Beach. You can take a taxi for about $5pp or a local bus. The day pass is $30pp& purchased at the hotel. We will try it on our cruise the end of July. Gets very good reviews. cruisinfanatic Posted July 12, 2014 #19 Share Posted July 12, 2014 Paradise Island for sure. Only a short taxi ride away. It's in front of Atlantis
cruiseapril Posted July 12, 2014 #20 Share Posted July 12, 2014 The British Colonial Hilton is very nice- a small pool and small beach. The Melia (formerly Sheraton) has several pools and a large stretch of Cable Beach. Also very nice.

kkdleon Posted July 14, 2014 #22 Share Posted July 14, 2014 My vote is Cable Beach on a Paradise Island. Short cab ride, plenty of beach, Food/bev within short walking distance, clean water, not crowded, no charge
