carlissaandisaacsmommy Posted July 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2014 We will be in GC in 2 1/2 weeks and trying to plan out our trip. There are 4 of us - hubby, myself, 7 1/2 year old daughter, and 2 year old son. We want white sand, clear shallow water, food, drinks, and beach chairs. Is that too much to ask? We aren't big drinkers and would rather not be somewhere that we can't move around. What are your suggestions and please give detailed directions on the best way to get there? Thanks so much!!! cb at sea Posted July 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2014 (edited) We've never seen "drunks" there....some will have a beer with lunch...but that's about it! None of the beaches are deep/wide like here in the States...the beaches are very narrow, so they may feel more crowded than they actually are. caribsun Posted July 24, 2014 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Right next to Calico Jack's is "Public Beach". PB has chairs and umbrella's for rent along with bathrooms and showers. PB is more laid back then CJ's and just a 3 minute walk for food and drinks. The taxi and bus dropoff is right across the street from PB.:) Oh ! the beach is much wider at PB and less crowded. Have fun,we did !
carlissaandisaacsmommy Posted July 24, 2014 Author #4 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Thanks! Which spot should we go for when we get to 7 mile? Or where should we ask the taxi driver to drop us off? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
carlissaandisaacsmommy Posted July 24, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Sorry, caribsun...didn't see your reply until I had already typed mine. :) So, we will ask them to drop us at "Public Beach" and then walk to CJ's for food when ready? Or is there a better place to get lunch? Also, can you tell me where to find the taxi? Sent from my iPhone using Forums
carlissaandisaacsmommy Posted July 24, 2014 Author #6 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Or it's public buses here, right? Where do I go for them? This was a last minute planned trip so I'm trying to get all the details straight. :) Sent from my iPhone using Forums
OCruisers Posted July 24, 2014 #7 Share Posted July 24, 2014 Calico Jack's isn't a drunken party beach but it does get crowded. LuLu
carlissaandisaacsmommy Posted July 28, 2014 Author #8 Share Posted July 28, 2014 When we get off the ship, where do we go to get to the "busses"? I think we will have them take us to Public Beach.
