Hello HAL fans! My father just booked a trip on the Westerdam for a family vacation. I have sailed Princess and Carnival. My father LOVES HAL and it looks like I will spoiled after this trip.

Tell me your favorite thing about the Westerdam. Are there any special things I may have not seen in my researching?

I haven't been on the Westerdam (yet) but there is something called Chocolate Seduction where they sell chocolates and may have chocolate drinks. It's on Deck 3 forward of the Digital Workshop, near the Hudson & Half Moon rooms. It doesn't seem to show on the deck plans, but someone on a recent cruise told me where it was.

We have sailed quite a few times on the Westerdam.

The Chocolate Seduction -- expensive -- very few drinks offered. I asked the bar tender if he could make me a Chocolate Martini -- nope -- only the 3 or 4 listed on the menu.

We went by there quite a few times and hardly anyone was ever there.

The only time I've ever seen Chocolate Seduction on Westerdam even remotely busy was when the espresso machine in the Explorations Cafe was broken and they were making specialty coffees there. Painfully slowly, I might add. And the espresso machine in the Explorations Cafe seems to be broken more often than not. Did they ever get that worked out?

There are menus of all kinds, sample on locations for different itineraries and other good info as well as cabin and public area pics on HALfacts, com

Just click the link in my signature.

The general info tab has all the info. The Vista ship tab has the pics.

The site is composed of donations by CC members who have been on the ships.
