anjo Posted August 10, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 10, 2014 Need a little info. Taking this cruise regardless of answers cos it leaves on my 60th Birthday and I need to get to Aussie so thought it would be a nice treat. Question, I know it will be peak time and lots of children around but what do you think the demographic will be? Been on Diamond Princess before so know what the ship is like. Thanks Anjo. icat2000 Posted August 10, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 10, 2014 Oh. The New Year Eve cruise from Auckland to Sydney? I looked a booking that at one stage. Still on my maybe list, watch, wanna list. :D Hard to tell how many kids will be on board. Dawn Princess cruise I did over Xmas once only had 200 kids on board. Princess tends to attract an older crowd.
anjo Posted August 10, 2014 Author #5 Share Posted August 10, 2014 Have to then get to Perth by 8/1 for 46 night Sun Princess Asia/Africa cruise. Was hoping to go by train but it arrives 1 day late! Any ideas about airfare? Are Princess cheaper? Thanks.

Kiwi Kruzer Posted August 10, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 10, 2014 That will be a great cruise. Should be very popular and attract a with it crowd. Being the last 4 days of a Christmas/NY cruise ex Sydney I would it expect it to be a sell out. Do not be surprised if those 4 days fill very quickly and then the offer is withdrawn. anjo Posted August 10, 2014 Author #9 Share Posted August 10, 2014 Don't think it is a cheap offer, can't remember where I saw it now but it's $743NZ pp. Still, a nice Birthday present to me. Do u think I should book it today or wait for the Princess Cruise Consultant I deal with tomorrow?
icat2000 Posted August 10, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 10, 2014 There seems to be plenty availablity on the ship unless you want a specific cabin?
kuldalai Posted August 10, 2014 #11 Share Posted August 10, 2014 (edited) Do an advance purchase one way air booking with Qantas via their Australian website qantas.com.au and you should get a pretty good price for Sydney - Perth . The later you leave it the bigger the rip off will be . Assuming you have days to fill in between disembarking Diamond in Sydney and boarding the other vessel in Fremantle. Then allocate at least two days for Perth/Fremantle and book your accommodation in Fremantle as it will be cheaper . Freo is a lovely port city .
