Rare Jetswdo Posted August 15, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2014 For anyone who has RECENTLY been onboard the Coral-- Where exactly is smoking allowed? I'm very careful with cabin locations to avoid as much smoke as possible, so before I put a deposit down on a cabin, I need to know. Thanks in advance for info. (I'm greatful that Princess doesn't allow smoking on balconies any more!) Anita
Rare h20skibum Posted August 15, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2014 Churchill Lounge and anywhere near it would be a bad choice. Even though the doors are closed, the smoke is overpowering there if you are sensitive.

Oh yea, I forgot about that area. :( It was pretty bad at night but early in the morning when I go the casino was closed there was no smoke problems. You would have though that they would have put up a barrier wall between the sections. It's easy enough to do....maybe when they go in for refurbishing some day. shredie Posted August 16, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 16, 2014 There's probably a smoking area on an open deck, but I'm not sure which it would be on the Coral.

(I'm greatful that Princess doesn't allow smoking on balconies any more!) Anita Since no one that recently has been on the Coral has responded here goes based on smoking areas on other Princess Ships. Basically the only cabins that may be effected by smoke smell would be balcony cabins on Deck 8. All other cabins are separated from smoking areas. Princess does not permit smoking in any cabin or balcony. Smoking is also limited to specific spaces and is not defined by entire sides of the ship. Indoor smoking areas are The Churchill Lounge and The Casino. Outdoor the areas will most likely be: *a section of the Promenade Deck where there are special ash disposal containers attached to the wall, this might be port or starboard. Some passengers will smoke on the Promenade in any area and don't travel to the precise areas for smoking.*A section of tables near the bar on deck 15 *maybe an area on deck 16 *maybe an area of the walkway on deck 16 toward the back end. I really can't see any smoke issue with any cabin selection other than the ones on deck 8.

I recall some on the walking track on Deck 7 (prominade), but not sure if it was permitted there. We stayed on Baha at midship and had no problems there. Kamloops50 Posted August 16, 2014 #10 Share Posted August 16, 2014 All Princess ships have the same smoking areas .One side of the promenade deck , part of the deck in front of the Horizon Court and most of the deck in the stern by the Horizon Court. On the Coral Princess the Horizon Ct. is forward with no area in front of it and no Horizon Terrace aft. The Lido Deck aft area and the aft area on Deck 15 above it are part of the Sanctuary and smoking is not allowed there. My last 4 Princess cruises from 2014 back to 2012 were on the Emerald, Grand and Star. These ships did not designate an entire side of the Promenade as smoking. A specific small smoking area was designated on the promenade deck. On the Emerald the area was all the way aft on the Starboard side between some crew access stairs and the section where the Promenade deck narrows to go around the stern. While you do find some passengers smoking around various places on the promenade deck these are not really the designated areas.

Rare Jetswdo Posted August 17, 2014 Author #13 Share Posted August 17, 2014 I will stick to port side and between aft and mid ship then. Thanks again. Anita
