Someone pinch me!

Recommended Posts

We will be doing the exact same cruise about a month before you. I never had a desire to sail oasis or allure from Florida as I prefer port intensive, smaller ship cruises in the caribbean. Odd as it may seem, we are doing this cruise as we only want to get off at two of the five ports and figure it will be a great chance to experience the ship without the sea day crowds.

I am most excited about Barcelona (cruised from there before but never explored), re-visiting the Cinque Terre (among the most beautiful places I have ever seen) and Naples which is all new!

I really enjoyed the med review by Middle Aged Drama Queen, she did a very detailed review of the Allure also and the current ones by Irish Cath and Kirian are great to get some wider info about the Med.

The most frustrating thing of all is that there are of course no reviews of Oasis Class in Europe yet to keep us going!!

Rome is amazing.

If you can afford it I would get a private driver for Rome.

The Colosseum is amazing. You can book on line the Underground Tour. You go to the lower and upper levels and skip the queues. It was amazing.

You can buy Vatican tickets direct from the Vatican site and again skip the line (which is the longest line I have ever seen). Also amazing.

Pompee - you don't need a tour. Just catch a taxi there and wonder around.

Not yet but Oasis will be there next month in September! Can't wait to read the reviews.

Rome is a wonderful city you can do a private trip by searching on line but RCI used to do Rome on your own trip the price includes a train ride in to Rome and back then you are free to what you want, the train stops near to St Peters sq and the Vatican City as long as everyone is able to walk OK this is a great way to see Rome, there is a tour escort on he train only who hands out maps and will explain everything before you arrive in Rome. Enjoy the Med

We will spend 3 days in Barcelona before boarding. Our ports of call are Mallorca, Provence, Florence/Pisa, Rome & Naples. We return to Barcelona to fly home. I appreciate all your help! The private drivers sounds like a great option with my parents at their ages. If the bus tours are hot & tiresome I need to consider that before booking!

Congrats on the RLS. We had this on the Allure a few years back. Huge balcony.

Barcelona is beautiful. We just returned in June from a 13 night Celebrity cruise out of Barcelona. So much to see and do. We decided to tour the Tuscan countryside in Florence. In Naples we did the trip down the Amalfi Coast. Positano and Sorrento are not to be missed. Rome was a zoo. So many people at the Colosseum and Vatican. We did not enjoy. Hopefully your experience will be better. I have photos of the RLS in my Allure photos. Enjoy your cruise.

WOW! Your photos are FANTASTIC! Thank you for sharing. I've had a hard time finding pics of the 2nd bedroom & bath. I appreciate the tips & will use them!
