redspain Posted August 24, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 24, 2014 We live in Spain, and our culture here is very family orientated, kids come to bars, pubs and lounges etc. There aren't laws preventing them coming in to liquor dispensing establishments (only serving them of course). We are sailing from Barcelona in October for a Med cruise on Liberty of the Seas and we want to know what Royals rules are in terms of kids (9 year old) in the bars. For example listening to live music in Sphynx or Boleros or any other venue that serves alcohol? Thanks
Clarea Posted August 24, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2014 No restrictions on children in bars on board the ship. The only exception that comes to mind is late in the night club, where they have an 18 year minimum.

OCruisers Posted August 24, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 24, 2014 The nightclub was the only restriction I remember. Enjoy the cruise with your family! :) LuLu
moshek Posted August 24, 2014 #6 Share Posted August 24, 2014 (edited) On our recent cruise children were not permitted in the Viking lounge area after 10pm or in the champagne bar. Edited August 24, 2014 by moshek
brenderlou Posted August 24, 2014 #7 Share Posted August 24, 2014 Children are allowed in the champagne bar. It is my favorite place for a cocktail an I've never had a problem bringing my daughter. Have seen other children as well. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
cb at sea Posted August 25, 2014 #8 Share Posted August 25, 2014 Yes, they can go almost anywhere, as long as they (and you!) are well-behaved.
TBone2K Posted August 25, 2014 #9 Share Posted August 25, 2014 To top it off, many of the "bars" are not separate rooms. Many are just areas off to the side of a public space like the centrum. Others are also main thoroughfare, such as the schooner bar on Vision class ships. So would be hard to ban the kids.

Thanks at some point one or two locations will go Adult only( usually very late like after 10 pm) AT the bar> lots of people have issue with that. IN the lounge areas or seated nearby ..no one really has any issue with that for the most part.
Beachcampin Posted August 25, 2014 #11 Share Posted August 25, 2014 I've seen bartenders in several bars and ships ask that a minor not sit at the actual bar itself, though they could sit in a chair not two feet away. Also, though they were not allowed to sit at the actual bar they could be served cokes, etc. Strange rules sometimes, but thats where the lines are drawn that I've seen. May vary on a different ship though.
