HerK_Sunflower Posted August 25, 2014 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2014 We're doing back-to-back cruises in a couple weeks and are wanting to find a liquor store NEAR/AT the port to buy 2 more bottles of wine for embarkation day of our 2nd cruise. I see online that the Carnival Fun Shops offer bottled wine, starting around $26/bottle - we're looking for less than that...I'll be a slight wine snot at home, but on vacation, I just want something affordable that we can both relax and enjoy. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you!!!
cb at sea Posted August 25, 2014 #2 Share Posted August 25, 2014 Can you not bring enough wine from home...let the ship hold the 2nd leg's wine until the end of the 1st leg....cheaper that way! GC is pricey!
HerK_Sunflower Posted August 25, 2014 Author #3 Share Posted August 25, 2014 (edited) I didn't think they'd hold it between cruises and return it to us at the end of the first cruise like they do the duty-free alcohol. If someone can confirm they would do this for certain, we'd definitely just carry-on 4 bottles - 2 for first cruise, 2 for second cruise. Thank you! ...also, I've never looked specifically if the liquor stores in the ports carry wine at all (only the hard liquor) so we're trying to find out that also - do they, in fact, even HAVE wine available in the liquor stores. :) Edited August 25, 2014 by HerK_Sunflower comments added
Rare Keith1010 Posted August 26, 2014 #4 Share Posted August 26, 2014 Be sure to check the Carnival Board to see what you can bring on board. Remember wine will not be cheap at Cayman. Keith
xbatt8 Posted August 26, 2014 #5 Share Posted August 26, 2014 I believe that when you check in for the 1st leg, you can show them the boarding pass for the 2nd leg and some ports let you take it on with you. AT least this is what many have said on other threads. Some ports may not, but they still might hold it for you until the end of the first leg. Another way of doing it is to put 2 of the bottles into your checked luggage (carefully of course) and when called to the naughty room, explain the B2B and they WILL hold it til the end of the 1st leg. :) Bob
