elliair Posted September 10, 2014 #51 Share Posted September 10, 2014 What do you like to do as soon as you board your Carnival ship? Tell me about the first couple of hours. :D That's easy, go to our cabin drop off our carry on's, secure the safe, and off we go to Lido for lunch. Back to the cabin to refresh and get ready for sail off! What could be better than that?:D
TheTobiasTribe Posted September 10, 2014 #52 Share Posted September 10, 2014 We are setting sail TOMORROW!!! Our FIRST family vacation and the kids first cruise....watching their faces is going to be a highlight for sure....but first, find cabin, set up sign & sail, and get that DOD in my hand as we explore. Muster up and ENJOY the view as we sail under the Sunshine Skyway! WE ARE ON VACATION!!!!
Ramrac Posted September 10, 2014 #53 Share Posted September 10, 2014 First thing I do is get the drink of the day, then go unpack as soon as I can and then walk around the ship to get a grasp of the layout.
lostdart1 Posted September 10, 2014 #54 Share Posted September 10, 2014 Go to our cabin, unpack, get situated, and hit the ironing stations! We like to iron everything right away so we don't have to wait in line or iron everyday. Sounds really nerdy, right? Iron, hey? OK, if that floats your boat....:p
VASOXFANN Posted September 10, 2014 #55 Share Posted September 10, 2014 Head to the Lido deck and EAT! :D

alligirl78 Posted September 10, 2014 #58 Share Posted September 10, 2014 First thing I do is take a deep breath and vow to leave all my stress on shore. I try to take a few moments to be thankful for the experience I am about to have and enjoy my family as we all prep for another family adventure. After that, WHATEVER! I'M ON A BOAT! iowagirl411 Posted September 10, 2014 #59 Share Posted September 10, 2014 If I am on a ship with the Mongolian grill, I head there as soon as I drop off my bags and eat as much as I can hold. Then I can ignore the long line that eventually forms for the rest of the cruise.

Buckett Posted September 10, 2014 #61 Share Posted September 10, 2014 The very first thing I do, it has now become a tradition, is head to the Lido deck and get a DOD. :D This part of the cruise is always so exciting for me, when you are first on board, and you can feel the excitement in the air! FlyingCruiserNJ Posted September 10, 2014 #62 Share Posted September 10, 2014 Go up to the lido deck for lunch which usually consists of some of everything that is being offered. I always buy my soda card as the table where they sell the program is right up on deck by the pool and the bars. If the cabin is ready when we board we will drop our carry on bags off in there and try to see the steward to say hello and let him know if we have any special requests or anything. After lunch I we unpack in the cabin and hang out until it is time for muster. Then after that the cruise is underway and we do whatever is the happening thing until dinner. WetToes Posted September 10, 2014 #63 Share Posted September 10, 2014 We usually get lunch, then check on the luggage. Vacation really doesn't start for me until we're unpacked. After that, if it's a new ship, to us, we explore and take pics. If it's not a new ship, we just stroll around, look at the views and take pics. Artemus Posted September 11, 2014 #64 Share Posted September 11, 2014 Head straight to cabin to see if luggage has arrived then go to dining room to switch dining to a table for two and back to cabin to unpack and then get lunch. Sometimes get lunch and then unpack.
TruckinMama Posted September 11, 2014 #65 Share Posted September 11, 2014 We go straight to our cabin to check it out and drop off our carry ons. We then head to the lido for lunch, walk around taking pics until time for muster, then I take pics and video of my awesome shameless husband dancing at sail away ;). After sail away we head back to our cabin to unpack and freshen up, followed by more time checking the ship out before dinner. Our next cruise is in a spa cabin, so I plan on spending some time in the spa while the hubs is checking out the casino.
kona_wahine Posted September 11, 2014 #66 Share Posted September 11, 2014 Last cruise had FTTF so dropped off carry ons then headed to guys. Coming up cruise will hit the excursion desk first to get HMC cabana assignment, over to the lobby bar to buy cheers, and drop carry ons at room, then on to guys. :p
LindseyButlerWilson Posted September 11, 2014 #67 Share Posted September 11, 2014 What do you like to do as soon as you board your Carnival ship? Tell me about the first couple of hours. :D We get a drink first thing every time. I don't know what this one is called, but the one in the picture is our first order of business. This picture is about three seconds after boarding the Magic :p
tdnosnhoj11 Posted September 11, 2014 #68 Share Posted September 11, 2014 FTTF or no FTTF, the DOD will be number one priority! Without FTTF we always do the DOD and grab lunch, finding a place to eat on Lido. We then get another DOD (those things go quick, don't judge!) and explore the ship. Then it's usually time to unpack. With FTTF we'll likely grab food in addition to the DOD and take it to the cabin to eat while unpacking. Then after that, we'll probably get another DOD and then go exploring. So basically, either way the same stuff, different order. lol Then muster drill. Then DOD. Then back to our balcony for sailaway.
PittsburghGirlee Posted September 11, 2014 #69 Share Posted September 11, 2014 Drop all of my stuff off in the room and head to the casino to check out the macines as this is where I will be spending 80% of my time:eek:.
