ISLAND WINGS associated with any cruise ships

I see many good reviews on Island Wings. Are they totally independent or do they work with any of the cruise ships out of Ketchikan?

I like the sound of their tour to Traitors Cove vs NCL's Neets Bay.

Any thoughts. Time frame is August 28, 2015.

They are independent. Michelle is a fantastic pilot. We did a trip with her to Misty Fjords last year and it was the highlight of our trip to Alaska. Enjoy your trip Alaska is amazing.

Book direct with them. We were out with Michelle 2 weeks ago amazing. Pay 50% upfront and the rest on the day.

We went to Traitors Cove for bear viewing with Michelle's Island Wings a couple of weeks ago. She does not deal with the cruise lines and her slots fill up fast. I booked a year ahead. By the way, we saw 14 bears (including 5 cubs) on the river. Several more were on the path to the viewing platform. It was worth every penny.

Do not delay in making a reservation. They definitely book up fast and I booked my Anan Creek trip for next August - in June so I wouldn't miss out :)

 

Traitor's Cove probably fills up fast too.....

I highly recommend Island Wings. When our flight was over, Michelle handed us a complimentary CD of where we flew. Now this was about 5 years ago, so I don't know if she still does this for her clients. Either way, you can't go wrong if you book with Michelle.

We just went with Michelle in July to Anan Creek for a bear watching tour and yes, we did get a CD.

We did the Misty Fjords tour with Michelle. It was great! Saw beautiful scenery, lakes and waterfalls. She landed on a small lake in the middle of nowhere & we got out to enjoy the quiet and peacefulness of the area for a while. The view is spectacular from above and I would do again in a heart beat. Like I mentioned earlier, she gave us a complimentary souvenir CD at the end of our flight.

 

Another "bucket list" item completed and checked off my growing list of things to accomplish before the big "D" Day! :)

We also went to Misty Fjords and couldn't believe what a phenomenal trip. Michelle is an amazing pilot and her plane is in excellent condition. It was cloudy the day we went which happens regularly. However, it didn't distract from the trip. The lake landing and being able to walk around for 15 minutes is something most vendors don't provide. You won't be disappointed taking this trip. We have watched our DVD several times and it brings back great memories. Book early because they usually run full on all their trips.

We did this with Michelle in August. Had a great time, lovely sunny day. As stated before great to land and get out and take photos. Michelle is a dab hand with the camera.
