Riviera PH3 GTY or PH2 assured cabin?

Hi, experienced cruisers,

I am very new here, I just book a Rivera PH3 suites, the status is GTY, so I don't really know I will end up with which cabin. Is there any bad cabin about PH3 I should worry about? My TA told me I could be assigned 10002/10003 in the worst case, because the is a huge spotlight in the veranda. Did anyone in the forum ever stay in these two rooms? Is the view obstructed a lot? Is the spotlight used often? Will it disturb your sleep?

I need your guys advice, should I directly move to PH2 as recommended by my TA? Or just be happy with whichever PH3 room I will be given, and there maybe some upgrade opportunity along the way?

Any advise will be appreciated

If you like to control your destiny take a booking where you choose the cabin.

As for upgrades, they are few and far between on Oceania. There is a better chance of being offered an upsell. In that case you must be able to act at once if you want it since they are grabbed up very quickly.

I'm not sure what you'll want to do about the Guarantee issue, but your Travel Agent is a terrible alarmist!

You will be able to see that spotlight from your Veranda if you are assigned to one of those front two Penthouses on Deck 10, but it certainly won't be "in" your Veranda!

You'll also find that the window curtains are very effective at blocking outside light.

Thanks, guys,

Your comments are vey helpful. It seems that the spotlight in 10002/10003 is not that scary as I think it would be, and I think I am ok with motion caused by rough sea. However, I do feel curious why the most expensive suites like OS and VS are either on the front or back despite they are most sensitive to rough sea.

I check the deck plan, I cannot find any major issue about the other PH3 suites from the plan, so maybe I will stick with GTW and see how it goes.
