edwinb_dc Posted September 22, 2014 #1 Share Posted September 22, 2014 So my partner and I are booked on the CB leaving from Port Everglades in two weeks. Our last cruise was a few weeks ago on the Carnival Freedom, and during that trip we were able to take advantage of a special 1st (and 2nd) night promo that included a bottle of wine when you dined at the Sun King Steakhouse. We thought this was awesome and were wondering if Princess ever did anything like this on their lines, specifically the Carribean Princess's Crown Grill or Sabatini's. Thanks! cubfan63 Posted September 22, 2014 #2 Share Posted September 22, 2014 I've never seen any free wine promo at Sabatini's and the Crown Grill on any night. The first night is when the full suite passengers can enjoy their free specialty dining. The second night is often formal night in the MDR. Princess specialty restaurants do not require Formal dress, and as a result gets bookings from those looking for a Formal night alternative. OCruisers Posted September 22, 2014 #3 Share Posted September 22, 2014 None other than for those in Full suites. LuLu

Interesting that you mention the second night because that's the night of our anniversary. We were considering one of the specialty place for that, but we'll see now if people use them to get out of dressing up...

Have you thought about the ultimate balcony dining package instead of a specialty restaurant? That's what we're going to do for our honeymoon. At this point, it may be between the balcony dining package or the Chef's Table. Edited September 24, 2014 by edwinb_dc

Keep in mind that Chef's Table is not usually done on a formal night, if you planning on that for the 2nd night, the night you referenced as your anniversary. Also, Chef's table is not guaranteed, as they have a limited number selected from those who sign up.
Rare geoherb Posted September 25, 2014 #9 Share Posted September 25, 2014 We did the Ultimate Balcony Dinner for our first wedding anniversary last month and had a wonderful time. The two servers were excellent and the food great.
dorisis Posted September 25, 2014 #10 Share Posted September 25, 2014 We did the first night dinner on Carnival's Legend a few months ago and we were on Caribbean Princess erarlier this month. Carnival does a wonderful dinner compared to Princess and Princess has no special like Carnival. On Princess you get one free dinner in a specialty restaurant only if you are in a full suite. I think you would enjoy the UBD even more than the specialty.
