How to kill a day near FLL or POM with kids..day resorts?

Cruise gets in to POM around 9am. Cheapest flight is from FLL at 8pm.

 

Any ideas on how to spend the day with 4 young children and a couple of seniors (10 ppl in total)?

 

Can someone recommend hotels/resorts that offer day packs?

 

We could consider renting vehicles but also don't want to spend more than we're saving by taking a later flight....

www.between9and5.com is one source for day rooms. I would try to call larger hotels located near the airport that are used to flights/guests at all hours.

Jungle Island is right next to POM but there is the question of what to do with luggage if you don't rent a car

I would priceline a hotel room for that night at the Fort Lauderdale airport. You may not be able to check in that early but you can certainly use the facilities. You'll pay for the room and meals so I don't know how much money you are trying to save.
