If you have ever done a cas cruise please help

I'm currently holding a certificate for a cas free cruise . I have to pay port and taxes of course. But I believe I heard someone in line at the event saying we would automatically receive free drinks in the casino no need to reach the point level. Is this true? And what level would your card be to start then ?

Complimentary drinks in the casino and you will be the lowest tier called lucky in which no minimum points are required.

look at this thread, 90% of the postings apply to your case. just to be clear, the free drinks are AT THE CASINO WHILE YOU ARE PLAYING.

I read your posting there and it is extremely helpful. I have a question about flagging a waiter for the free drinks. I know it is easy to get one at a table game but I play mostly slots. In all my slot playing on NCL ships I don't remember seeing a drink waiter or other employee near slot areas. How would I get one?

We are thinking about accepting a CAS offer for Gem's November slot tournament.

I never ever had a problem getting a waiter at the slot machines. If anything they came around to much. This was on the breakaway. Maybe because I tipped him every time lol I dunno

I also tip but if I can't get the first drink, how would they know I tip?

Maybe the waiters are just at night? I usually play in afternoons.

If see a slot attendant or any employee you could always ask them to ask a waiter to stop by to see you.

From my experience on cruises, the bartenders and waiters/waitresses in the casinos and certain bars (Spinnaker on the Gem for example) tend to be the sames ones working that area for the entire length of the cruise.

 

last few cruises we've gone on, the first time we order drinks i tip a $20 in cash and ask the waiter that whenever they see us, see if we need anything.

 

might be a bit much (some might say obnoxious), but i've never had a problem getting drinks or even soda/bottles of water after doing that.

Sometimes you do have to flag them down. But, you will get your drinks, while playing.

The drink service on the Breakaway was the best I've ever experienced on a cruise or at a land based casino. There were a few servers working at a time and I tipped a dollar per drink and they would come by all the time. They would keep an eye on my drink and when it got low they would ask if I wanted another. The Epic was another story. Sometimes you wouldn't see a server for long periods of time or they would bring the wrong drink or they would forget where I was sitting and walk around the casino calling my name until they found me.

I have been on 4 different NCL ships all through CAS and have never had a problem getting a drink at any time of the day by a slot machine. The drink card is attached to your players card and is visable to the wait staff. If anything, they seem to ask you before you have even finished your drink. You can also just walk up to the casino bar and get your drink before you play. Have a great time.:D:p

You can also just walk up to the bar and get a drink there. While there, you will see the wait staff getting orders filled. Then let them know where you are playing, and they will find you. They are working for tips, so they will find you. Worse case, just tell a slot attendant, and they will get one for you.

I agree. Just off the Breakaway last Sunday and I always tipped the servers well for every drink while playing. After the first day, two or three of the servers would pester me while I was about halfway through a drink, to the point of being annoying.

Only if you are a casinos at sea passenger. When you are, cards show up in your stateroom the first day. You don't have to sign up.

 

All other passengers must sign up for a card and earn free drinks by accumulating a certain number of points. Or if your play is high enough, you may be noticed by a host and get them sooner.

I'm currently on Getaway and can confirm that complimentary drinks in the casino are plentiful. I've tipped the servers, and perhaps that's helped, but there have been several servers who have gotten me (lots of) drinks. :)

They will either scan your room key with a hand held scanner or take your key to the bar and scan it there. You will see it on your bill but the charge will be $0.00

That is true!!! But my friend that got the discount with us went to the casino host and said they did not put the card in his room and they gave him one. So never hurts to ask!

We only cruise thru CAS, and the free drink card(s) will be for you and your travelling partner. We have never had a problem getting a server, and after the servers get to recognize you, they will be around a lot asking if you need a drink. I bring many many dollar bills with me, so that I have tip money for the servers. NOTE: The free drinks are while you are playing in the casino, and what we normally do, is hit the slots before dinner, and when we are ready to leave, we get a drink and take it with us to the dining room. Have fun.:D

Right. I'm booked through CAS with a comped balcony cabin and get drink cards. I booked 2 more cabins for family members getting each one a 10% discount they do not get drink cards unfortunately even though I booked them through CAS. I asked my PCC and was told no. Would have been nice but its not happening.

I have a couple of questions.

 

I am cruising in less than 2 weeks on the Gem. I got that cruise thru Harrah's Total Rewards. Is this the same as CAS?

 

Also, when playing the slots, can I put my room card in and get money that way, or do I need to bring cash?
