West Palm Beach to Miami Port--get to the ship on time?

Has anyone flown in to West Palm Beach same day of cruise? What ground transportation did you use?

Thanks!

I've done that several times. I fly to WPB then take the train to Miami. Then I will take a taxi from the station to the port. Very cost effective.

But only if it is a very early flight. It can take 1.5 hours to make the trip.

I will give you the same advice I gave to someone earlier on another post.

Try not to fly in the day of the cruise. There is just too much risk should your flight be delayed or cancelled.

What can go wrong?

Computer Glitches

Security Breach on plane or at Airport

Weather

Mechanical Issue

FAA issue

Lack of Flight Personnel

Or a multitude of other things.

Just look at what happened at Chicago the other day.

If you are in a Winter area going on a Winter time cruise, as Keith says, fly in a day earlier...PBI to Miami is only about 75 miles by car, or 1. 5 -2 hrs by Tri-Rail, but why take a chance & stress yourself out? Only if you're coming in from like, Atlanta or Charlotte, both non-stop and less weather problems, might you consider the same morning...flying & airports are such a mess these days....

Ninety minutes from cab to train to cab to Miami?! Wow! You have good luck. As a South Florida resident I find this to be very optimistic. I would allow at least-- really, at least-- 2 hours.

I find two hours very optimistic. I would plan on three at a minimum.
