The deck you disembark from will depend on a variety of things. There is 3, or possibly even 4 decks, depending on dock configuration, tides, and a couple of other things, that can be used.

It isn't just one deck. I have even seen this change during the day. In the morning it may be one deck, and a different deck when we returned to the ship in the afternoon.

Thank you Bruce for replying. I never knew (or took notice). I really thought there was only one deck (go figure). Thank you for the bit of knowledge.

Deck 10 or Caribe deck is 1/2 covered and 1/2 open. The deck below deck 9 is competly open and you can look right down on them. We always try to book the Caribe deck, it is larger (on the Coral and Island Princess) and it gives you the choice of shade or sun,

Princess usually embarks either on deck 6 or 7, depending on the port and tides. They also usually embark you mid-ship into the Atrium/Piazza.

When we were in Vancouver we embarked fore and aft depending on cabin numbers.

We were abaft on that cruise so we boarded aft and took the aft elevators.

On the Coral PC Cruise, they had two gangplanks depending on your cabin numbers.

Some of the balconies are visible from some parts of the ship as well as from above. The Caribe deck does not extend much beyond the Baja deck above it, but your neighbors above can look down on you.

We have embarked on different levels on different ships. Last cruise on the Ruby it was deck 5. Doesn't matter, it will be near the center of the ship unless the port has the fancy boarding processes that routes you to a set of numbers, like cabins 100-300 this line and 400-700 in this line, etc.
