Transfer Istanbul cruise port to airport

Our first Regent cruise leaves in 2 weeks. Yay. We finish in Istanbul on the 31st of October.

What is the best way to transfer from the cruise port to the airport? Any recommendations for private transfers?

Our flight leaves at 1100, how much time should we allow ourselves?

I would allow at least one hour to get from the port to the airport. It could take less time but traffic can be a big problem. I would want to check in two hours prior to the flight so I would leave three to three and half hours before flight time.

Like Keith we have a three hour minimum to be at the airport. If we arrive early we just go to the airline clubs we are members of and pass the time with a relaxing drink.

My recommendation would be to go with private transfer versus a taxi. :)

 

I love Istanbul but the taxis can be a hassle.

Absolutely agree with Keith. Twice had trouble with taxis in Istanbul. One was communication only. If there are any events, political or otherwise in Istanbul 3/3.5 hrs is not enough.

We have always used private transfers in Istanbul. We have been there three times. That being said, I am just going to take taxis next year. I am familiar enough with the place now, and though we have had taxi issues there, I am confident enough now just to use a taxi. But there are plenty of private transfer companies.
