Barb Nahoumi Posted October 11, 2014 #3 Share Posted October 11, 2014 Where will the Explorer be home ported after leaving Bayonne?
Clarea Posted October 11, 2014 #4 Share Posted October 11, 2014 Where will the Explorer be home ported after leaving Bayonne? For a few weeks in Port Canaveral, then dry dock in Spain, then England for a while, then off to Asia.
138east Posted October 11, 2014 #5 Share Posted October 11, 2014 The Explorer is wintering in Port Canaveral and then having a face lift in Europe, spending the summer in Europe, and sailing off to the Orient. What a life! The roll call is very active with many repeat cruisers on board for the last sailing from Bayonne. I can't wait!
Merion_Mom Posted October 11, 2014 #6 Share Posted October 11, 2014 For a few weeks in Port Canaveral, then dry dock in Spain, then England for a while, then off to Asia. More than a few weeks. Mid-November until March.
Nerina Posted October 11, 2014 #7 Share Posted October 11, 2014 Over the last nine years we have sailed on Explorer 12 or so times and can't believe she is really going to be leaving Bayonne. She had become our home away from home! Wish Royal had dry docked her before she left Bayonne so we could have seen the new & improved Explorer or at least brought her back after the dry dock so we could enjoy the improvements! Explorer and crew we are so sad to see you go! We had so many wonderful times sailing with you and you will be truly missed. F27TW Posted October 11, 2014 #10 Share Posted October 11, 2014 For a few weeks in Port Canaveral, then dry dock in Spain, then England for a while, then off to Asia. Bob ... is it Asia? Thought I had heard Australia?
springaussie Posted October 11, 2014 #11 Share Posted October 11, 2014 For a few weeks in Port Canaveral, then dry dock in Spain, then England for a while, then off to Asia. Australia is not Asia. I did not think Royal had announced that Explorer is going to Asia just assumption that the deployment after May 2016 from will be in Asia. Explorer of the Seas home port will be in Sydney Australia November 2015 - April 2016. The last cruise bookable on Explorer of the Seas is from Fremantle Australia 28 April 2016 - Singapore 9 May 2016.
Clarea Posted October 11, 2014 #12 Share Posted October 11, 2014 Bob ... is it Asia? Thought I had heard Australia? You're right, she is mostly sailing from Sydney. I do see some sailings from Singapore, but not as many as from Sydney.
crisndeefromde Posted October 11, 2014 #13 Share Posted October 11, 2014 My first ship...so sad to see her go but haven't cruised on her since our last nine night a few years ago....the 7 nights to florida and bahamas just not exciting for us. We so love the crew and so many are friends and family it seems. You felt like you were home when you walked on board. So many we have met have moved to other ships and we see them and also to the Adventure of the Seas. Thank you for the great memories and the many friendships we have formed for life! Whitnee1 Posted October 13, 2014 #14 Share Posted October 13, 2014 Really gonna miss her the crew and her deals. The Quantum has given us "sticker shock".
MareT Posted October 13, 2014 #15 Share Posted October 13, 2014 Really gonna miss her the crew and her deals. The Quantum has given us "sticker shock". Agreed . . we were originally going to book the Quantum for a December 2014 sailing and then were told of the Explorer's repositioning cruise. Could not beat the price nor the itinerary so the Quantum will have to wait. Maryann
